Don't let anyone tell you your memes can only be dreams - Pajama Guardian Urgot is finally real to the surprise (and to some, the horror) of League fans across the globe. Our favorite cyborg-crustacean is rocking some stellar new gear and is all fabulous and sparkly! He's going to blast you to bits with his shotgun knees. He's still Urgot, y'know. Across the globe, pro leagues are looking to continue despite the-virus-that-shall-not-be-named's spread. Online professional play is a callback to the pre-structured format days and I've gotta say it's been even more fun to watch. Then have this in mind: You probably memorized most of the champions names, items and abilities. You could probably draw a champion from the top of your head if you wanted to. It's fun to completely one-shot a squishy champion or role (lookin' at you, ADCs) out of fog of war or even when you're NAram in the midgame. But you have to realize, that's all AP Malphite really has; he's a one-trick mountain. With the amount of mobility creep that has been going on, we have ADCs that can juke it or have abilities that just prevent Malphite from truly engaging. So if you miss your R, all you're going to get are ? pings. So as an outsider, why am I complaining? Because that's not the most fun way to play Malphite. AP Malphite is poor man's Deathfire Grasp + Veigar R. So what is the most fun way to play Malphite? Full tank. Now, you're thinking that full tank is normal Malphite, and you're correct. But it's the mentality of playing full tank that gets me queuing up for soloQ every time I get Top/Mid/Jungle/ADC/Support. Zed ults you? I PRESS Ctrl+4. Jungler wants to gank? I PRESS R to get away and then I PRESS Ctrl+4. Yasuo wants to auto you? I PRESS 1-800-273-8255 because I bought second item Thornmail. And one of the most beautiful things I find in soloQ besides the rare instance of team synergy is an enemy team that picks full AD as I last pick Malphite. Because I know from champ select that they will barely tickle me past my two item powerspike. I mean what can they do? You get so much gold efficiency from building armor, you get bigger and bigger from it, and your abilities scale off of it. You get to enjoy the slow acknowledgement of the enemy team realizing that no matter how much they can try to hurt you, you will whittle them down in the battle of attrition. As the sunfire burns, the thornmail returning damage, the glacial slowing them where they stand; it is much more satisfying and fun dragging out your clear victory rather than the quick release of endorphins after one R-press. I mean what can they do? You're full tank Malphite. And your enemies? They (edit) literally don't do anything. [link] [comments] | ||

So you know what I do? When I get mid lane, I pick AP Malphite. Every mid-laner's going assassin these days, so why not pick a champion specifically designed to destroy assassins? Zed jumps on me? I PRESS R. Zed doesn't jump on me? I PRESS R. Yasuo windwalls my Q? I PRESS R. Quiyana goes perma-invisible? I PRESS R. She uses her broken-hitbox Ult? I PRESS R, unstoppable BTW. Fizz does the trole pole? I PRESS R, miss on purpose to assert dominance, and flash Mastery as he walks away like the social reject he is. AP Maphite is Chad. AP MALPHITE is the Malcom X of the middle lane, and he will guide mid-laners to protect themselves from assassin aggression "by any means necessary" (to quote Malcom X himself). Your 53% WR assassin got 3 dashes in your kit to dodge skill-shots with? Well dodge this swole flying bod, nerd. Wish me luck as I also try to learn Kled, the Che Guevara of the middle lane. Ending a game at 0/0/20 is a great feeling. I genuinely love playing support and I'm excited to grind and become better. | Why aren't Riot doing more soft reworks? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:05 AM PDT By "soft" i mean voice/voiceline changes; without (major) gameplay or visual updates. I get that some characters (like Udyr or Mundo) are not receiving one because they are in line for a full rework, but what about champions like Zed? He has like 2 lines, even tho he is among the most iconic champions of League, has amazing gameplay even by modern standarts and recently received a whole comic series devoted to him. Or Varus, who got a lore update which makes most of his current lines nonsensical. Same goes for Riven and Le Blanc. Vi and Jinx also require some tweaks, but im assuming Riot will do it after Arcane comes out. [link] [comments] | ||
