Riot support's response to Hai's chatrestrict

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:59 AM PDT

I agree saying he has a shit attitude for being AFK is negative.

"you can't even play the game" is in response to Senna(enemy) saying what does LB do vs Senna

Fine, chat restrict me but ban/punish the bigger offender (the afkers) please. (They didn't get touched).

    sad times.

I love how their suggestion to improve your LoL experience is to use the mute button when in this case would do nothing to the two people afk in fountain.

But yes, I'll refrain from typing from now on. Got it.

Can people stop dropping the "Udyr is too expensive to rework, he has 4 stances for every skin" excuse? Riot literally reworked Kayle 1 season ago,who has 4 form at lvl 1,6,11,16.

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 02:02 PM PDT

It's unacceptable that 11 years are gonna pass and Riot still isn't doing an Udyr VGU. There's no excuses to leave him like that. His stances still use ancient JPEGs when you switch between them, his fur looks like a dorito chip ffs. He's one of the champion that urgently requires a rework yet Riot keeps dodging him. The problem doesn't in his skin, it's that his kit is too outdated to keep up with the current meta, beeing a champion that only pats you on the back in 4 forms with no dash, sustain and too mana reliable. It's so sad because there's so much potential for him, he's soo cool in the lore and Riot could make him viable Top and JGL again.

Waiting 5 minutes after a loss could significantly improve your win rate!

Waiting 5 minutes after a loss could significantly improve your win rate!

I'm a Data Scientist, League player and writer for TowardsDataScience. I often combine these to research and publish articles about LoL and I thought Reddit might appreciate my latest, which is all about tilt!

The full article & link to the code can be found here:

    https://towardsdatascience.com/analyzing-tilt-to-win-more-games-league-of-legends-347de832a5b1

I was interested in seeing whether I could prove the existence of tilt (I went on a 13 game losing streak, this was a coping mechanism). The first step was to see whether players who have lost, are more likely to lose their next game:

Win Rates of players based on the results of their previous games.

But, this is obvious when you think about it. Players that have recently lost 2 games are statistically more likely to be worse players than players who have recently won 2 games! The players might not be "tilted", they might just be worse than the average.

So instead, I looked at like-for-like players (Gold players on a 2 game losing streak) and compared their win rates based on how long they waited before re-queueing:

The win rate of Gold ranked players on a losing streak, depending on how long they waited before playing the next game.

Those who take no break after losing two consecutive games have by far the lowest win rate! Interestingly, those who only take a short break not only have improved win rates but win more than 3% of their games compared to the average! I suggested this could be because they've "warmed up", but it's a question for future research.

I re-ran the experiment for Diamond I players and the results were interesting..

he win rate of Diamond I ranked players on a losing streak, depending on how long they waited before playing the next game.

High elo players actually see their win rate considerably decrease if they take regular short-breaks following a loss, whilst players who play immediately see a small improvement compared to the average player! My best guess is that players who don't take breaks after a loss simply play more games & have learnt to cope with the tilt (otherwise they wouldn't be high elo, right?), but this is again up for debate

I'd love to hear your opinions and maybe suggestions on future research!

I will also shamelessly promote my LoL analytics website, jung.gg - it's the only site that can provide the most common jungle paths taken by high elo players (currently awaiting a redesign!).

    Thanks!

    Jack

    Summer Broadcast Updates: The HUD

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 01:07 PM PDT

Most champions can realistically get 87.4% tenacity with the new Unflinching secondary rune.

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 10:41 AM PDT

If you take Unflinching (get below 30% HP) and Legend: Tenacity (fully stacked), then build Sterak's Gage, Merc Treads, and an Elixir of Iron, you can gain 87.4% tenacity for 8 seconds (duration of steraks fury).

The duration CC floor is .5 seconds (i.e CC will never be less than .5 seconds long regardless of tenacity). Some of you may be worried that it's too much CC, but depending on the CC, with something like Morgana, unflinching could be beneficial still, in terms of the tenacity not going to waste.

In a standard build without unflinching (assuming my math isn't as bad as my elo):

Merc treads + steraks fury are additive and legend: tenacity is additive. - (72%):

    1 - (1 - (Mercury's Treads (.3 tenacity) + Sterak's Gage (.3 tenacity))) x ( 1- Legend: Tenacity (.3 tenacity)) = .42

In a standard build with unflinching (80%):

Merc treads + steraks fury are additive and legend: tenacity and unflinching are multiplicative - (80%):

    1 - ( 1 - (Mercury's Treads (.3 tenacity) + Sterak's Gage (.3 tenacity))) x ( 1- Legend: Tenacity (.3 tenacity)) X (1 - Unflinching (.3 tenacity) = .804

If we add iron elixir (87.4%):

Merc treads + steraks fury are additive and legend: tenacity and unflinching + elixir of iron is additive . Realistically the most tenacity we will have is (87.4%):

    1 - ( 1 - (Mercury's Treads (.3 tenacity) + Sterak's Gage (.3 tenacity))) x ( 1- Legend: Tenacity (.3 tenacity)) X (1 - (Elixir of Iron (.25 tenacity) Unflinching (.3 tenacity)) = .874

This may not seem that impressive, so lets see how it effects some abilities. The difference in time stunned by a max ranked Q (3 seconds) Morgana for each of these. Only in the last would we hit the floor and the duration be bolstered back to .5 seconds.

    • .84s - (72.0%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity
    • .588s - (80.4%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching
    • .378s - (87.4%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching/elixir of iron

For fun lets look at Ashe ult (3.5s)

    • .98s - (72.0%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity
    • .686s - (80.4%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching
    • .441s - (87.4%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching/elixir of iron

Similar to Morgana, we would only hit the floor in the 3rd scenario.

Next lets look at Nasus Wither (5s)

    • 1.4s - (72.0%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity
    • .98s - (80.4%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching
    • .63s - (87.4%) merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching/elixir of iron

Here we don't hit the reduction floor.

Scenario. You are Ashe stunned, then rooted by Morgana, then withered by Nasus. The total duration without any tenactiy would be 11.5 seconds (oof). Going down the given examples, the duration would be reduced from 11.5 seconds as follows (taking in account the cc .5s floor cap)

    • 3.22s - merc/sterak/legend: tenacity
    • 2.254s - merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching
    • 1.63s - merc/sterak/legend: tenacity/unflinching/elixir of iron

In the final case, it ends up being a 85.82% reduction instead of 87.4% because of the CC duration floor.

As a sidenote -- you can increase the reduction further. Garen (W - Courage +60% tenacity) or Mundo (W - Burning Agony +30% tenacity. Additionally if you use cleanse beforehand (+65% tenacity for 3 seconds) or play URF (+25% tenacity).

In any case - was really curious how the new changes would affect CC and thought some other people might appreciate the knowledge as well.

Ice Cream Themed Zoe Skin Concepts!

Hello, my name is Madelyn and I'm an aspiring concept artist! I like to practice my character creation and outfit design by making fanmade skins for League. So I made four different skins originally, (all based off of different candies/sweets). Afterward, I decided that my Ice cream one was my favorite and just made a set of chromas and called it a day! I planned on making more but I got a littleee lazy.

As always feel free to leave constructive critiques in the comments, I'm always trying to improve. Also my socials in my reddit bio. Hope you guys enjoy and have a wonderful day!

Now that Mundo is getting a rework, does this mean we will finally get Blood Moondo?

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 11:05 AM PDT

I think it'd be cool to see one of his new skins be part of the Blood Moon theme! I could see him with large beads going across his torso, a large mask with an open mouth, flowing white hair, and while wielding a kanabo (Japanese spiked club) for a weapon.

Here are some examples that could work with this idea:
