Posted: 27 Sep 2020 08:12 AM PDT It's such a great joy to see the EU production team come up with another great caster. He's so damn eloquent and fluid on the desk. This day has been a blessing and Caedral deserves all the praise he can get because we'd love to have him cast more.His chemistry with Quickshot along with his confidence and game knowledge were so damn great and enjoyable. I wish he stays on for the duration of the tournament as he provides a great insight into a more detailed approach to the game. Caedral joins a list of esteemed EU players who turned into great casters in the likes of Deficio and Krepo. In a similar style to those two, his analysis revolves mostly around the micro approach to the game as opposed to the macro. He's more into why each play was done and how it correlates to the grand scheme of things. Such a style is different from the regular analysts because they tend to look at big picture stuff. PSG.Talon subs Kongyue and Uniboy deserve mad props Posted: 27 Sep 2020 08:59 AM PDT Without those 2 in particular they would unlikely deliver such an explosive and dominant performance in Play-ins. Nobody expected anything from this team, given the circumstances and they straight up smashed everyone. It makes me very sad that such talented players who worked so hard to get the team to the Group Stage won't play another game at Worlds. Such are the rules but it doesn't make it any less tragic. By far the best midlaner and jungler in the entire field of Play-in teams and no doubt the best mid/Jg duo. The level of early agression from Kongyue was unmatched, be it Ekko/Kindred, you name it. The team reminded me of 2018 Griffin where they played smart towards their wincondition and outteamfought the opposition. Fun Fact about Ornn Item Gold Value Posted: 27 Sep 2020 11:16 AM PDT We all know that Ornn loves to build Abyssal Mask and Sunfire Cape to get those sweet sweet upgrades. Casters like to point out that the value of these upgrades are worth over 3,000 gold! A quick Google search confirms the raw stat gold value of these upgrades are equal to 1,876.7 and 1,666.7 respectively for a sum of 3,543.4 gold! This number is a bit UNDERstated specifically for Ornn however due to our thicc boy's passive. Not only can he build items in lane, upgrade his teammates items giving thousands of gold value, reduce tenacity on brittled targets and also allow allies to proc brittles max health damage; he also gets an additional 10% Armor and MR from all sources! This yields an additional 10 Armor and MR from Infernal Mask and Forgefire Cape, bringing the total additional gold value Ornn gets from these two items to 3,923.4 for our special tank (assassin warlock adc mage support). Appreciation post for Captain Flowers Posted: 27 Sep 2020 02:49 AM PDT I know he definitely isn't underrated and I have always been a fan but I just wanted to highlight his way with words. In the past he has always been a great caster who was capable of really hyping up plays and was able to put the crowd on the edge of their seat. What I really appreciate here is that a lot of the games he has casted thus far in play ins aren't that intense because they are often on sided and is obviously missing the on set crowd. What he has done a phenomenal job in so far imo, is that he can just keep on talking and i keep wondering where he is going with his sentences and it always makes sense and he never makes pauses in his sentences. I know this kinda sounds not that noteworthy, its just that i noticed that he fills the blanks so nicely so far without it being annoying chit chat or ever getting really boring. He has this skill of coming up with stuff where i wouldnt know how to close out the sentence without ever stumbling or ever having to pause to look for a word. I feel like the other casters do often have to take a small pause and think about where they wanna go with this and i never seems to notice this about him. There is a flaw in the ranked system that is placing new players into smurf queue Posted: 27 Sep 2020 02:32 PM PDT This is ruining games for many new players and they don't know where to go to talk about the problems because they are new. I just got my friend into the game and he was complaining about being placed with people who were much better than him and that his queues were last 10+ minutes. And after investigation, I found the problem. Riot scruffy tweeted this about a week ago. https://imgur.com/a/V3JFbHm How smurf queue works is that it takes into account your visible rank and your mmr and if there is a big gap between it, it puts you into smurf queue. Here comes the problem though. Riot by design in placements, puts your visible rank much lower than your MMR. Well the game now from the get-go picks you up as a smurf and you are now in smurf queue as a new player. And it just happens that most of the new accounts in league of legends are smurfs so the 1~2 unlucky actual new players are getting absolutely fucked. This also applies if you are not new but playing ranked this time for the first time (after being ranked in previous seasons) because you have to go through placements and Riot applied soft reset at the beginning of the season meaning your visible ranked again is much lower than your mmr because you are in placements. The system has the right intentions but it's causing indirect problems to new players and returning players who are playing ranked for the first time in season 10. There are way too many cases of non smurfing players getting placed in smurf queue. This change should have absolutely not happened when everyone is trying to rank up at for season awards and should have happened during pre season. The timing of this change more than anything baffles me.
