| Posted: 27 Oct 2019 04:55 AM PDT Exactly what the title says, ANEW Esports is bringing a roster composed of Zig, Inori, 5fire, Dontmashme and Sheep to Scouting Grounds and it's ruining the purpose of the tournament a bit. A tournament run by Riot for the sole purpose of finding new, untrained talent that could one day maybe play in LCS but haven't had a chance to prove themselves yet is actually overflowing with washed up veterans. Why is this allowed? What possible benefit could giving these players a spot in a youth tournament? It's no wonder that new NA talent cannot develop, with veterans who aren't good enough for LCS anymore taking most spots in both Academy and the ultra rare amateur tournaments like this. Like, for fucks sake, is seeing Dontmashme for the umpteenth time over 6 years going to convince anyone that he's good enough for LCS? Of course it isn't. There is a huge problem for the sub-LCS scene in NA and it needs an overhaul from Riot, either in creating an actual amateur league, amateur tournaments based on geographical regions (add way more than the 10 Academy teams to the mix, create conferences), giving the organisation rights to other companies like it works in EU, just anything to give the players an actual competitive experience instead of just the extremely limited LCS spots and the irrelevant Academy spots occupied by players whose time is long gone. But first, at least make the tournament that is most obviously aimed for young unproven players actually for young unproven players. NA will be doomed to recycle the old bottom feeders forever until new players are actually given a way into the scene. cvMax: Doran said that he would leave when I was kicked out of the team, but we consoled him well enough for him to stay on the team. If you're looking strictly on Summer season performance, Doran isn't better than Sword. If we kept playing Sword for the second round of Summer we would've secured our Worlds spot faster. But the player who gets the team to summer finals (Doran) should also play worlds. This is something I told Sword as well, and I planned to let Doran play until the end of worlds as long as I was the coach. Sword's weaknesses are never apparent against players who are bad players or even coin flip. I actually told him this often. I told him I'd let him play against the weaker teams at worlds. It was way past the time when he should be offended by that. If he was competitive like that, he would've improved a long time ago. I don't know why Sword did an interview like that of me. I watched his interview later on and he's really a piece of shit with no conscience. He doesn't even look like a human being to me. I hope he contacts me if he says anything to say to me when he's back in Korea. I just pity Doran, and it's also a shame that the other 4 of them lose games with their skill level. Sword never said a word to me about his disagreements or complaints, and always appeared to be agreeing with me whenever we talked. My effort to show my faith in Doran to Cho fell weak as Doran didn't find much success in the second round of Summer. I had to tell Cho, "I prefer Doran over Sword. The real reason why Sword became what he is now: Urgot. When he was meta he had free lanes, in teamfights just press w and then r on the low hp target, and people call you god.
The last game was a Sword special: get beat up all day and run away, and right before he's about to die, turn around HAMMER FORM Q and then die.

| Posted: 27 Oct 2019 09:27 AM PDT champions that outrange him are typically bad, and also don't have enough poke to really whittle him down with his waveclear pattern + building ROA for sustain champions within his spell range usually get outtraded by him or simply don't have enough burst to blow him up through his ROA/Tear/Phase Rush does very well 2v2/2v1 because of his point-and-click snare can you reliably punish him by forcing fights early while he's scaling? not as much as you'd expect, because of his god tier splitpushing ultimate. a splitpushing ultimate and high 1v1 capability as one of the best teamfighting mages with a kit that screams "THIS IS A TEAMFIGHTER" because of his AoE... jeepers creepers! that's really giving me a chill! really tiresome champion to watch, play, and play against edit: fun little thing to note is that now even ryze mains hate his mini-rework turning him into an EQ bot. now dedicated fans of him dislike him too. As Mata was subbed in today for Game 3, he is eligible for a skin.
As this is most likely Mata's last match this Worlds, his only game will be on Thresh. Unless they deviate from these rules, this means (as this was also the champion he chose when he won Worlds in 2014 with SSW): If SKT wins Worlds, Mata will get a second Thresh skin and become the first player to have multiple Worlds skins on the same champion. | I started to reconstruct the Ionian and Vastayan languages Posted: 27 Oct 2019 06:17 AM PDT (tl;dr at the bottom for those who do not wish to read a bored student's rambles on the internet) Hej everyone, I decided to post a 'short' introduction to what I've been up to. If people are interested I can go more in depth at another time or if people would like to help me out. League is my most played game by far, and they've really started to flesh out the lore. Multiple champions speak other 'languages'. However, after doing some digging on the forums, and after asking support, these languages are almost completely nonsensical. Some words do have meaning, but there is no structure or grammar in them. And this is where I feel like riot is completely missing out on a wonderful opportunity. Allowing those few die-hard fans to fully learn Ionian or a Vastayan dialect could aid in the survival of the league universe in the long term. Especially with the new rpg game coming out, wouldn't it be nice if the foreign language was 100% functional and legit? I'm majoring in Linguistics and have created two fully working languages myself, so I couldn't resist to make it myself, I've so far compiled all the Vastayan/Ionan material that there is, transcribing it into phonetic script and looking for structure. THe problem is, and that is one that I also had with my previous language. There is next to no relation between the English text and the Vastayan examples. Another important thing to note is that there is no linguistic structure in the spoken language that we created (e.g. the language is, although nice, nonsense). This is both a blessing and a curse. It's great because it means that I have a lot of liberty in creating the structure. Yet it's mostly a curse due to the fact that I need to find patterns where there are none. It's like finding a needle in a haystack, except that there is in fact no needle. There is one tool to make it easier for myself, and that is that you can attribute things to 'regional variety.' It's highly likely that karma and Yasuo would be able to communicate, but some minor differences would be dialectal. After I'd indexed everything, I begun analysing sounds that happened to be used by more than one person, and thus building a phonetic inventory for Vastayan (all sounds that are used in a certain language, e.g. English has [b] while Icelandic does not) This is all I wanted to say for now, and if people are interested I could write down my findings of the first grammatically sound sentences of Vastayan or some more in-depth details. | Worlds and MSI semifinalists show incredible consistency Posted: 27 Oct 2019 03:43 PM PDT 3 of the 4 MSI semifinalists made it to the semifinals at Worlds - G2, IG and SKT. The 4th team which is missing is of course TL. Furthermore, 3 of the semifinalists at Worlds this year are the winners of the respective domestic leagues (just like at MSI).
