simple but great tip i just learned

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 11:58 AM PDT

I apologize if this is too small or obvious of a tip. I was recently watching doublelift streaming and at one point in the game i think he criticized either his own play or a teammates play, and he said that "you should never be in a position where more than 1 enemy can auto you." And honestly him saying that has made a big difference in my play. It seems like such an incredibly obvious thing now having heard it but its honestly not something i ever thought about before. I think in the past i probably would have tried to get into auto range of as many enemies as possible so i could shoot them all. Anyway, I dont even main adc, im a support main, but ive been using this advice at all points during the game. During lane phase im finding myself taking less poke and having an easier time harassing enemies. And in teamfights im finding myself surviving more often. Again sorry if this is obvious or insignificant but its crazy how such a small thing could help me so much and maybe it can help someone else too.

How to play against lane counters better?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 08:18 AM PDT

Hi guys, I'm a Silver 1 almost Gold 4 after playing the game for about 2 months now. I think this question is a bit more than a simple question so I'll ask.

I went from top lane Kennen + Panth to bot lane as I felt top lane didn't have enough impact on matches.

On bot lane, what can I do against particularly hard lanes? I know how to play safe and avoid jungles, etc. But I do struggle to utilise the support players sometimes (I am shit myself sometimes too).

My friend suggested treating the lane as a 1v2 all the time to avoid unfavourable situations (he's Diamond 4). So I'm going to work on that.

I mainly play Draven and Miss Fortune. I'm hoping to learn maybe Jhin as a 3rd champ and then I can focus on those three.

What do you guys think? I particularly struggle against Caitlyn since I'm Draven. As they don't seem to give me much room to breathe.

    Thank you!

New Player - Bronze/Iron skill level and atmosphere?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 08:17 AM PDT

Hey! Just started playing a few weeks ago. When I hit 30 I started my ranked solo queue placement matches, but the games have all been Gold tier and I get wrecked and flamed (understandable, but like, sooo toxic). I usually do pretty good in normals though.

So I guess my question is, assuming I get placed in low bronze or iron or w/e, is it going to be more comparable to normals? Or is everyone a smurf somehow even in the super low elo? Are people nicer since we're all in the same boat, or more toxic bc everyone is desperate and salty?

Just wanna know what I'm in for ...

High ELO players - how good will you be if changing your OTP champion to someone you rarely play?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 10:04 AM PDT

Lets say you're OTP darius top in dia ELO so u have pretty good grasp of the game, the champion, and his matchups - how well this transition when you'll start playing even in the same lane something like aatrox / kennen / jax / gangplank or whatever top laner you don't usually play?

Will you fall in ELO? if so how hard? from dia to plat? gold?

In other words how important is learning each and every matchup if you want to start learning a new champion? (and again we're assuming good grasp of the game in general thus why im asking about high ELO)

    Matchup: Mundo vs Darius

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 02:00 PM PDT

Had quite the unpleasant game, and since it isn't my first time I was wondering what I can do more in lane (and rest of the game) vs Darius as Mundo. Streamed it aswell (1h28, in french), if you want more info.

The only time I can beat darius would maybe be in the first levels, but even there it's far from guaranteed. After that, my main goal would be somewhat freeze under/near my tower, which is quite hard since he has a lot of pressure with his e/q. Is my reasoning wrong ?

Fairly new player here, coming from Dota

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 08:36 AM PDT

Hello! I actually play both DotA and LoL and enjoy both. I have about nearly 350 hours on dota and I am level 20 on LoL.I play adc mainly, my most successful hero is kalista, though I haven't tried most adc's yet. I have tried miss fortune, tristana, draven(though only 1 game) and kalista. Most games I can do very well, but often in a teamfight I just get jumped by 1 person and die immediatly. I want to learn zed since he looks fun(though hard)and i got the skt1 skin from a reroll into permanent skin or whatever it's called. So any tips for fairly new players/ zed or kalista mains would be appreciated. Thanks!

How do you deal with Aatrox?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 11:56 AM PDT

    A bit of context.
I'm trying out toplane again after a season of playing jungle. I have experience there, been a top main since season 3. I mostly play simple, straightforward champions, like Nasus and Trundle, my favorites.

So, I go toplane trundle. I'm very comfortable with the champion, played him for years in every single lane. I pick conqueror, as I know I wont be able to do short trades with Aatrox, which outranges and outmobilities me. started Doran's Shield, and generally survive the early game. at level 6, he all ins me, I flash, he loses his ulti.
After that, I want for hit to blow all 3 Qs and his dash, put a pilar behind him, lay down the W zone, fight in my minion wave, near my tower, auto-q-auto, lowering his AD, ulti him, and start bashing away. he goes down in life, misses 2 of his 3 next qs, and I die. he leaves with 60% life. I never had a chance.

I know that Trundle isn't exactly a powerhouse nowadays, and Aatrox... is. but I fail to see what I can do against him, if his skill matches mine. I was sure he had openings after messing up, but his cooldowns are so short that, if I don't have enough damage to kill him in 3 seconds he just runs over me so hard I get isekai'd as a vending machine.

So, people that are more up-to-date with the fair champions that are viable nowadays in top, please illuminate me.

I'm not salty, just slightly confused by this utter bullshit.

How do you carry on support?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 03:08 PM PDT

I main thresh and have ~170k mastery on him so I know how to play the champion. What I struggle with is how can I actually carry the game on support. It seems like some games my adcs are just terrible and it doesn't matter what I do in lane, it's just destined to lose. Other games it seems like no one pushes side lanes and the enemy waves are constantly crashing, while my team wants to fight mid all game. Other games it seems like I'm the only person warding and team mates get caught due to the lack of vision.

I'm just curious on what I can do to carry games on thresh. I usually roam early game up to mid and help jungler, also get good picks in teamfights, but I feel I still can't carry.

I'm currently silver 1 and don't really play ranked due to the reasons listed above.

how do i fight yorick in lane?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 12:16 PM PDT

title kinda sums it up, i'm currently silver top main 1 and yorick is rarely played in my elo so i have almost no idea how to fight him, what are the things i need to focus on, and how do i deal with his ghouls as a melee champion? (also let's not favtor in junglers cuz we all know junglers don't gank top)

i would also like to know some marchups that favor him so i can avoid them

    thanks

What to do against roaming assassins with wave clear?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 12:03 PM PDT

I really don't have a good understanding what my goal is against champions like Ekko, Fizz, Talon and i think a few more. What I usually try to to shove the wave so they are stuck clearing it and not murdering my allies. I dont follow the wave up to their tower because they have solid engage and probably win 1v1, but definitely with their jungler. These champions have good enough wave clear that they can clear out this wave and get a roam off. If their roam is successful they an assisted kill in another lane and the tilt it causes my teammates is worth way more than the 1 wave I can shove into their tower. Even if the roam fails, it usually doesn't take them is long if their spotted out so they catch most of the next wave. If I follow I'm super vaulnerable to getting turned on and dying 1v1 or 1v2 with their jungler possibly around as well. Furthermore, it can be hard to tell if they leave or not since the wave dies a good 10-15 seconds before the next one comes and people don't react to missing pings either because im doing it too much or they just are ignoring them i cant be sure which. My main champion is Ahri, but I play several other mages mainly (and the rest are less mobile and safe which makes this problem worse, hence why I main Ahri).

Could use some advice what my goals should be in these lanes as it feels like nothing I do works! Thanks!

How do I snowball my lead instead of falling off?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 08:54 AM PDT

Recently I've been playing a lot of mid-lane, I used to be a jungle main, and I've been playing mostly Akali, Yasuo, and Kassidan. Typically I can do really good early game with my CS an solo killing the enemy laner but after laning phase I feel like a wet noodle and I can't get consistent picks. I'm fairly new I started playing in March and I'm high Bronze. Any tips would be appreciated I'd like to keep improving
