    Tian's Interview was mistranslated..

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:42 AM PDT

Translator says he wants to silence the European crowds but what he actually said was he wanted the crowd to chant FPX's name instead.

He didn't mean it in a BM way, he just wants to win over the fans.

Doesn't sit well with me that the analysts then made jokes about it because it seriously wasn't intended to be that much BM..

EDIT: Sjokz explains that the mistranslation was due to a broken earpiece.

EDIT 2: For context, here is the interview. Timestamp at 5:08:40 is when the question is asked.

EDIT 3: Clement addresses the situation and apologizes on twitter. The FPX Esports twitter account also replied and forgave him.

[ SPOILER ] - Tinfoil Theory: The Phoenix Music Video Predicts the Order in Which Teams Get Eliminated from SEMIS in the first 1m&5s

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:54 AM PDT

SPOILERS: In the first 1m and 5s of the Phoenix music video, each player from IG, G2, and SKT are shown. The order in which they are introduced is the order they will be eliminated. The first scene is Rookie on the train, the second is caps in the warehouse/large room, the third is Faker at the press conference. Additionally the word "Phoenix" is not uttered until after all 3 of these scenes occur. We already know that with today's match, IG has been eliminated. If the elimination pattern follows the video this means that SKT will beat G2 tomorrow, but only to be beaten by FPX in the finals.

Thanks for listening to my tinfoil theory. Have a great weekend and enjoy then rest of Worlds!

EXTRA EDIT: With all the "3-1" games, the scriptwriters are perhaps alluding to the fact that all *THREE** teams' players to be eliminated are shown in the video, only ONE team isn't shown: Fun Plus Phoenix.

*EXTRA 2: the segment of lyrics that first mention "Phoenix" :

    Fly, phoenix, fly

It's time for a new empire

Go bury your demons then tear down the ceiling

    Phoenix, fly

A "new empire" could refer to the "empire" of China, and how China will win 2 Worlds. Korea used to have an "empire" of dominance etc.

"Bury your demons" could be referring to how Doinb will bury none other than the "Demon King" Faker himself.

Reminder for NA viewers if your state/province changes Daylight Savings tomorrow, G2-SKT starts ONE HOUR EARLIER than iG-FPX did today!

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 10:48 AM PDT

Last week Europe moved to Daylight Savings, so day 2 of QF started one hour later for everyone else than day 1. nbd though because at worst you wake up an hour early and wait for the series to start. But this week if your state/province observes DST, then you will switch tonight, and if you set your alarm for the same time you'll miss the first game!!

Link on the wiki if you want to see start time in your own time zone

Edit - to clarify, Riot's schedule on lolesports is correct! But, if you didn't pay attention and just set alarm for the same time both days, you'll be late for the series tomorrow.

Weibo Reactions to iG/FPX (aka semifinals civil war)

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 08:03 AM PDT

    https://s.weibo.com/weibo?q=iG%20FPX&Refer=weibo_weibo

: It's so hard being an iG fan… Why couldn't you guys take it slow and not make such silly mistakes. You guys are good at teamfighting, but were literally leashed around by FPX like dogs the entire series. KR has already taught us in S3-4 that only knowing how to fight isn't going to win games… You must have good macro and micro.

: I'm really sad that iG lost. After the series, I am scared to go on forums and view League World topics, because I know those keyboard warriors would be flaming iG. All I can say is, if you're so good, why are you not playing in their place instead of flaming at home?

: How did theshy do only 7 damage in that one teamfight? Surely one auto does more damage than that??

: Nobody on iG deserved to win that series besides Rookie. Everyone was hyping up theshy, and then he gets solo killed and kept feeding despite being a late game carry pick. What a joke. Support (baolan) was useless except Game 4. INTeresting ban-picks from the coach, please gtfo of China and go serve your military service in Korea. Thanks.

: Who gave you guys the confidence to say FPX is actually good? Is this a joke? They just got lucky and beat iG at their most vulnerable. Now they're just going to put shame on LPL by getting wiped by SKT in the finals. This is so embarrassing.

: iG refusing to ban Nautilus, horrible positioning the entire series. Honestly, I'm happy it was FPX instead of iG entering finals after watching that series. Maybe they'll get lucky and face G2 in the finals instead.

: I'm not surprised that iG lost today. Theshy was getting cocky and his play was not as good as it should have been. Jg/sup difference was huge. FPX deserved to win this one.

: FPX is super strong versus domestic teams like iG but they're not as good vs. foreign teams as iG is. Quite a shame that iG got eliminated. I don't think either G2 or SKT are easy for FPX.

: GRF already taught the world how to beat iG – Losing lane to Rookie is fine, but you CANNOT give Rookie lane priority to help theshy. I knew iG lost when theshy bought mejais.

: iG lost to FPX in macro. FPX wins a teamfight then takes objectives, iG wins and doesn't get much. FPX's win is well-deserved. See you in Paris.

: A pity that the series didn't go to game 5. Please promise me that baolan will never be allowed to play Alistar again ok

: Only relying on one carry would never win you games. RNG relied on Uzi and iG relied on theshy. It's a team game.

17081 people got their Pick'ems completely wrong

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 10:00 AM PDT

17081 (0.35%) of the players that participated in the Pick'ems managed to get 0 points as of the first day of semis. Although not as impressive as getting it all correct, it is still quite unlucky (or lucky) that these players managed to completely botch their Pick'ems. Hopefully they can get at least something after tomorrow's match.

Edit: Turns out these people are doomed forever as they don't even have a chance to get any more points after getting all quarters wrong. RIP hopes and dreams. RIP my brain cells for not thinking of that. Thank you to everyone that reminded me of this.

A Doinb's fan since QG Reapers(2015) opinion about Nemesis statement.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:10 PM PDT

Hello there, since this statement blown out the last couple of days and I saw different people with different opinions on it I decided to tell my own. Of course im not someone qualified but as a FNC and FPX fan who has seen most of their games this year (Mostly summer onwards) and a Doinb's fan since old times I think I can have a somewhat valid opinion especially since most people dont watch LPL and Doinb is a fairly new name for them.

Lets start with what Nemesis said that made people hate him. This is Nemesis statement word by word:

"I think Doinb in my opinion is one of the worst mids in the tournament". I bolded those words because they are very important in the context that he doesnt present it as an absolute and he just says his opinion after he is being asked by someone in chat. People already have started twisting it and presented like he said that Doinb is the worst mid in the tournament.

So lets now see if his opinion is valid. First of all how do we rate a "good" midlaner. Based on what?? In my opinion when we talk about how good someone is as a midlaner, toplaner, botlaner etc we re talking about mostly his laning skills because aspects like teamfighting for example arent role specific. So we judge a laner based on how he plays his matchup, manipulates his lane, how he trades etc.

DoinB was never a very good laner compared with the best,he is not dogshit of course but he isnt on par with the best and he knows it himself. He never played for smashing lane or outplay his opponent through mechanics and his lane management (Thats why you ll see Tian and Crisp come mid to fix his lane state) isnt the best but just because he knows those things he found other ways to get edges over his opponents.

And thats why his champ pool revolves around picks who allow him to either push fast and roam or picks who have value for his team even if he stays behind. He isnt that good on the 1v1 matchup against the best so he tries to kinda avoid it and his basic target is to make plays on the map with his supp/jungle,thats why Tian and Crisp play around mid so much.

So his lane fundamentals arent the best,so why he got hyped so much by people in the scene and the community who watches LPL or follows him?? Because he is a very unique and likeable player who brings much to his team,he is basically the heart of the team. Doinb strenghts are his leadership,communication/shotcalling,teamfighting,game knowledge, his ability to enable and play around his team sometimes by abandoning rescources if needed and his deciviness. If you watch the player cams DoinB is constantly communicating and most of the times he is the only one talking, the team trusts him a lot and even when they execute a bad play they re extremely decisive and they do it on spot. Thats really impressive and really important for a team. While the most important part (And the best part) of FPX are their jungle/supp synergy which is probably the best in the tournament,DoinB is the heart of that team and things cant work out without him. FPX arent a laning team, they re the best when they execute plays together in skirmishes or teamfight and DoinB is a huge part of this. Also his work ethic is insane, that guy scrims then opens up stream and plays like 15 games and its said that he is the pro player who watches most vods than any other.

All those things tho arent lane specific and they are signs of a very good player but not a good laner in particular. And thats the greatest part about him, despite all of his laning flaws,a part of the game thats considered one of the most important by many he has reached to the world finals,by playing his own "style"/'game". People who love and support him dont do it because he is an incredible midlaner like Faker or Chovy for example but because he is a unique, fun player to watch who brings different values to his teams and he is a very nice and entertaining/hype guy. Its just that most people think that when a player is hyped is because he is some mechanical or lane prodigy but this isnt the case here.

So to go one step further im gonna list all Worlds midlaners and put those who I think are better mid laners than DoinB above him and those who are worse below him to see if he is actually one of the worst in the tournament. Keep in mind that this isnt a ranking,im not gonna rank the midlaners based on who I think is the best,Im just gonna put those who I think they are better above him and those who are worse below him.

    • Caps
    • Faker
    • Chovy
    • Rookie
    • Showmaker
    • Xiaohu
    • Nemesis
    • FoFo/* DoinB/* Humanoid (I think he can be even or slightly below)
    • Jensen
    • Rainbow
    • Nisqy
    • Kiaya
    • Damonte
    • M1ssion

So he is somewhere in the middle, Nemesis also played only vs Xiaohu,Faker,Damonte and DoinB and I dont think he considered the wildcard midlaners,DoinB was for sure one of the worst midlaner from Quarterfinals onwards. Anyways at the end of the day its his opinion and he didnt present it as an absolute. Also Nemesis isnt the only one historically who has brought up DoinB's mid lane flaws other analysts and players have done it as well. DoinB's values are so important tho especially for a team like that. So imo DoinB is an average midlaner but a very good player and that isnt a bad thing

Also I think community in general for various reasons overracted on Nemesis statement. We need more people and players in the scene who arent afraid to voice their opinions, instead of being political correct all the time, even if they can be seen as controversial so we can have good discussions both within the community and between the community and the people in the scene. Nemesis's statement was a good reason to have different discussions like: "What makes FPX good??" or "Why FNC lost vs FPX and what they could do better" or "what FPX did good vs FNC" or "What DoinB brings to FPX and how good he is" but instead we got a witch hunt and statements like : "Salty you lost","you lost so you re worse" and other more "hyperbolic" stuff that dont bring anything to the table. I even saw people call Nemesis bad but someone who actually watch the game can understand that this isnt true and if you watch FNC's voice comms you ll see a rookie being more vocal than anyone and at times it can be seen that he has more knowledge than veterans on the team.

Anyway thats all if this post gets traction I hope we can have a nice discussion.

TIL you only get Instant Report Feedback if you are the last one to report a player

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 11:34 AM PDT

So, I got mad at this one player I was playing with. Dude literally stopped playing and started dancing in the jungle and using abilities to hit nothing only to not get busted by LeaverBuster, so I decided that instead of reporting him in-game (which in my region seems useless), I decided to report him via a ticket. After a few days I receive a message from a Rioter saying, amongst other things, that:

"The report feedback that comes from the client saying that someone you reported got punished is only shown when you're the last person to report the player and it happened in the last 10 matches."

It makes me think... why? I really have low expectations about anyone ever getting punished in my region but having such a small population getting notified is really bad imo.

What are some of the Skin-Stereotypes you noticed while playing league?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 11:14 AM PDT

Disclaimer: This is obviously a for-fun post and I am aware how this sounds taken out of context.

Here are some that I noticed:

Muay Thai Lee Sin: The OG tryhard skin. prepare your asses to be kicked.

Deep Terror Thresh: This feels like the Veteran skin. not necessarily the flashiest hooks, but you will still get destroyed.

Armour of the fifth age Taric: Don't think I need to explain this one.

Pool Party Renekton: If you want to push your BM'ing to the next level.

If Teddy played Worlds like SoloQ

I'm more anxious about SKT x G2 match then my college entrancy exam tomorrow.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 11:41 AM PDT

Last week, I never felt so much pain in my chest and emotion after watching G2 x DWG.

After game 2 which they've lost anxiety raised so high that I could not even watch anymore.

I've never felt like this in a long time. As a Brazilian, even high pressure football games from my team/national team wasn't doing anything like this. I kept thinking, If I'm on this situation. Imagine the EU fans at Madrid and back on Berlim.

This is pretty specific, i mean, how often do you see two planty boys in bottom?

But i encountered this and thought it was a note-worthy bug

EDIT1: Comments pointed out that this happens when he walks into a brush.

~ It only happens if he has the passive damage from W passive, aka if he recently walked into bushes - RbN420

Riot made team icons double the price and half of the features only work on rift this year which they never disclosed

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:31 AM PDT

This year's team icons are said to include team cheer, team tag, emote and icon for 600 rp, team cheer and team tag doesn't work anywhere except on rift which was never the case in last 4 years, they are also double or triple the price than usual (i recall few years ago everyone was making new accounts cause you got rp on it and they sent 200 rp icons to themselves) I know worlds are almost over but this was terrible move for me and others aram players that always sparked a conversation or joked with other esports fans or even trash talked and made great friends afterwards with which I watched worlds together and I don't want them to do it next year too,I also bought it to support a team 50% and 50% cause i wanted team cheer and team tag
