Free Talk Tuesday - November 26th! Posted: 26 Nov 2019 12:52 AM PST Hey there, /r/leagueoflegends! It's that time of the week once again - Free Talk Tuesday's back up - now with it's own 80 page primer! (I kid, I kid.) Hope you've all had a good weekend! Aphelios has made his debut, and everyone's talking about the complexity that is his kit. With five weapons, a sisterly spirit-bond and a haircut that'll send you reeling into 2003 he's giving the big brain champs of the League a run for their money. He looks cool as all HELL though so if you're interested, here he is! Fair warning though - it's a lengthy read so strap in, folks! That's not all we've got, though! There's a plethora of skins making their debut soon(TM) and this go round there's more than just a few lines - this update brings us the return of the Nightbringer/Dawnbringer lines, Sugar Rush and last but not least a Hextech skin for Swain! My personal favorites so far have to be Karma (SHE'S SO PRETTY I LOVE HER) and Nidalee (See Karma). What do you all think of this year's lineup? Sound off below! That's it for this week! Why the heck do I have to change my account name after 10 years? Posted: 26 Nov 2019 01:20 PM PST I assume everyone else is being forced to create a "Riot Games account?" I am trying to create mine, but every single name I've used is taken. Now I get it that there is a chance someone already snagged it, but its just a combo of letters and numbers I always use as my main account. I have used the same one for years and years on multiple platforms and I am literally the only who uses it. How can you implement a new system and not start fresh? So now millions of people have to create new accounts without using the tens of millions of ones already used? Sorry I am frustrated. I picked those characters because I always use them and no one else does. It is annoying and frustrating. I can only image how frustrating its going to be for everyone else. Something that bugs me much more than it should - Aphelios' weapon names all have Latin origins apart from one which is Greek. Posted: 26 Nov 2019 02:20 AM PST Severum - from the Latin "separare" meaning "disjoin" or "divide" which later became "severer" in Anglo-Norman French which later became "sever" that we now use today. An appropriate name for a scythe shaped weapon with high DPS potential on the Q. Gravitum - From the Latin "gravis" meaning weight or "gravitas" which can also mean seriousness. Obviously today we have the word "gravity" - the effect of this weapon is to slow and root, much like the effects of very heavy gravity, and also putting opponents in a seriously heavy situation. Infernum - From the Latin "Infernus" - I'm not gonna explain this one more, I'd really hope you get it. Crecendum - Our modern word Crescent also has Latin roots - "crescere" meaning grow or increase or develop. Also an appropriate name for the weapon as it allows your attack speed and damage to grow with your aggression, and it grows your offhand weapon into a turret. And then just to ruin the whole pattern we've got Calibrum, a play on "calibre" which has the GREEK origin "Kalapous" because I guess fuck consistency.
