| Posted: 13 Nov 2019 03:16 PM PST Medical personnel and Riot staff were dispatched to a gamer's house today, after a sudden discovery threw SocraticMind, aged 25, into a mental breakdown. As an avid League player and online board frequenter, SocraticMind very much enjoyed the apolitical environment produced by the famous MOBA. He mained Zoe, and although his profile history reveals he would often cite her as his reason for becoming a libertarian, he otherwise focused on game builds and injecting jabs against Vaevictis into his every single comment and post. That was... until he saw a post with over twenty-thousand upvotes on /r/leagueoflegends. Suddenly, and without recourse, his apolitical paradise was shattered when a woman of Puerto Rican descent deigned to post her rank achievement. His mental wherewithal only worsened upon leaning the CEO of his favorite team of blonde Europeans had also, for whatever reason, endorsed her and left her an open invitation to play together sometime. He took action immediately. Having secured the coveted handle SocraticMind, this gamer was in a great position to be the voice of reason the community needed. "Silver IV isn't even that special," he wrote. "What's the big deal about some girl reaching it?" One user responded in minutes: "AOC is a politician lol, she probably gets like 0 time to play" SocraticMind conducted a google search. The more he learned, the more he felt the last threads of his tiny baby mind snapping. After he could no longer read another sentence about her achievements, he replied. "She's a democrat?" It was a public comment, yet the question seemed very much directed to himself--a dissociative vestige of his dying worldview. Four frazzled League players reported having SocraticMind as a teammate. He played aggressively, manically throwing life away to the enemy in the hopes of securing his own fifteen-minute victory. According to in-game chat, the bronze 1 player felt that only platinum+ ranks would be safe from the spread of politics. But he would never make it: after seven straight hours of losing at League, he demoted to bronze 5: the sheer synaptic shock rendered him unconscious before he could click off the message and complain more. The family of SocraticMind has demanded an apology from AOC, accusing her of 'crassly, irresponsibly revealing you are a higher rank than our son; like telling him santa clause isn't real.' I think it is good to see a popular politician such as herself sharing this with 4.1million followers, should definitely bring some attention to League of Legends. | The number of ARAM games with AFKs is insane, and it's all because of a bug Posted: 13 Nov 2019 06:55 AM PST I realize most people don't give a damn about ARAM but it's extremely frustrating because it's been happening for at least the last two months. There is a bug where people dodge the lobby and the game continues the exact same, you see a message that "X has left the lobby" but the game goes through the same way. This has created a completely absurd number of 4v5s, seriously, if you play 10 ARAM matches you can easily expect at least 3 or 4 to have an AFK on either team. [link] [comments] | ||

I know this is probably trivial to a lot of you but, one of my favorite times of the year and parts of league is when the login screen plays the years new snow down theme. I was raised and went to college on the east coast where we had 4 distinct seasons and snowy winters. Now that I live in Los Angeles, it's sometimes hard to find that holiday cheer when it's still 70 out and you're surrounded by smog and palm trees. No matter how stupid this sounds, the snow down login theme really helped me and my girlfriend get into the holiday spirit despite all that. Part of our holiday ritual has always been playing snow down and gifting all our league friends and each other skins. I'm really gonna miss that feeling this year. [link] [comments] | ||
