Mordekaiser's ultimate Stat steal and why it is problematic (A lil' analysis by a concerned Morde main) Posted: 21 Dec 2019 07:58 AM PST So, it is no secret that Mordekaiser is currently overperforming. And while he's finally Numero Uno like he was always meant to be, he is currently running rampant with an increasingly high ban-rate and pick-rate. There are very few top laners who can actually go toe to toe with him in his current state and he is definitely in line for some nerfs in the near future. Si, having gotten this out of the way, let me bring up a major concern of mine when it comes to Mordekaiser's balance state and the question of game health, which is his Ultimate (Beyond the) Realm(s) of Death. It is an amazing strategic tool, allowing Mordekaiser to single out high value targets, deny a diver's engage, turn the odds in his favor and just generally serve as a very high moment of his gameplay. I adore this ultimate, not just from the sheer thematic OOMPH it has, but also the many unique little usages it has. BUT There's one little thing that hasn't been there when I first play tested the reworked kit, which is the 10% CORE STAT steal that Mordekaiser puts on the afflicted target. Now, it is thematically fitting that someone literally dragged into an Underworld is going to be suffering some major health issues, but the way this mechanic works in the game serves to make Mordekaiser one of the biggest stat checkers in the game. As a juggernaut, Mordekaiser already has the tools to win most fights, being capable of dishing out some massive damage and be tough as nails. Which are both intended Juggernaut strengths, mind you. But on top of that, during his ultimate, which is supposed to be this big showdown, he plays dirty and reduces his foes' stats to empower himself. This makes one of the viable forms of counterplay, which is to FIGHT him, a lot less viable than it should be. The stat steal works on multiple fronts too. -Stealing your AP/AD means that Morde DEALS more damage to you while you deal LESS to him. -Stealing MR/ARMOR means that Morde suffers LESS damage due to his increased resistances while dealing MORE to you since you're losing out on them. If you put it this way, the ultimate seems more oppressive than it has any right to be. In my honest opinion as a Mordekaiser enthusiast, the stat steal should be removed from the ultimate. It simply promotes some very degenerative gameplay patterns where Mordekaiser simply starts running you down once he gets a point in his ultimate. He should still gain some additional benefit to his R of course, but the buff should be more of a selfish stat buff that'll increase his own stats by a certain amount rather than just sapping his foes. I suggest giving him your usual 10-15% increase in his own core stats (Say armour, mr, hp, size, ap and ad) while fighting in his own domain. Now, I Love the idea of Mordekaiser making his fallen foes strength his own, so the stat leech could technically be preserved in there as well. Allowing Mordekaiser to siphon a percentage of the enemy's core stats upon their death rather than at the start of his ultimate. He'll still get rewarded by a lasting stat buff upon murdering them, but getting there would be tougher, which is exactly what Mordekaiser needs right now. This excessive strength should definitely get toned down since it makes for very unsatisfying gameplay on both ends. Morde just gets a stat buff and the enemy is just getting crippled by a whole 10% penalty on ALL their stats. It's not very interesting in itself and serves to make him more obnoxious than he should be. So, Tl;DR: >Make Mordekaiser less of a run you down stat check by targeting the excessive, hidden power of his ultimate. Posted: 21 Dec 2019 02:18 PM PST ITS A TARGETED SPELL. yes, you can chose whom to heal, it doesn't automatically choose the best person to heal at that moment. whomever is under your cursor gets healed, if only there's no ally under your cursor, it chooses the closest ally with the lowest hp to heal. i swear so many times on ganks or in general the adc heals and it goes to the support and they go like wtf why didnt it heal you, and this happens in like diamond 2 euw. submitted by /u/yehiko [link] [comments]

You should know this easy, but usefull, support trick Posted: 21 Dec 2019 07:05 AM PST I always did it and probably the most of you already do this, but i realized how much it's usefull when i was playing Lulu today. You should know that you can apply your skills (for exaple shields, speeds up or simila) to you allies also pressing the key of the skill and then the image of them situated on top of the minimap. Could sound stupid but it is really usefull when you are in team fight, there is a lot of mess, lot of champions and lot of minions, and you have to put, for example, Lulu shield on Kai Sa because she's dying, but you could missclick on Renekton because he's bigger and he cover Kai Sa a bit. submitted by /u/Trinciabue [link] [comments]

A tip for league players everywhere that will probably boost you an entire division Posted: 21 Dec 2019 07:51 AM PST Stop playing the game you THINK you should be playing, and start playing the game you ARE playing. "We would have won that if our ADC and mid were here." Well they weren't. And if you took the time to assess the situation before you engaged or fought, you'd have known that. The correct assessment after the fact is "We would have won that if I'd waited for my ADC and my mid" "They're sending 3 people for me why aren't you getting anything on the rest of the map" says the top laner with TP up, who just died near the enemy inner turret top after his team just lost a 4v5 team fight, and are currently respawning. They're not getting anything because you're not paying attention. Your laner just went to make a 4v5 and you sat in a lane and AFK shoved, expecting your team (who is currently losing a team fight you could have TP'd to, and you didn't notice) to go push some objectives when the enemy rotates to you. But because you're playing YOUR game and not THE game, you didn't notice that your team died in an odd man fight, and the next logical place for the enemy to go is up your ass. "Omfg you noob, when I engage fkn follow up" says the leona, who just zenith bladed into a duo who has an item up on her ADC, a stacked ass minion wave, and (obviously) dies. There's no way you win this fight. They do more damage than you. They have minions who also do damage to you. Your ADC can't read minds, and would never expect their support to engage in this situation. because they shouldn't. You came up with this fantasy scenario in your head about how this situation was going to play out, and didn't take the time to assess what's ACTUALLY happening in the game. Because it doesn't pan out, you flame your team when it was really your own damn fault. Don't overthink the game -- it actually does a lot of the playing for you with all the information that's available to you at any given time. use that information. Don't create your own narratives and try to will them into existence. Use the information you have and capitalize on the advantages that come up. You've got a stacked minion wave about to crash into the enemy turret. Your ADC is full health with ult and has an item over the enemy adc. The enemy duo is 50% health and their thresh already burned his ult. All of a sudden, thresh throws a hook to try to get someone under his turret for a cheeky kill but he misses. Minions? Check. Item advantage? Check CC expended on enemy side? Check This is totally dive-able depending on which champs are here, lets say you're leona tristana vs a thresh lucian, all summs up. its fucking go time. Nothing bad happens here, you either force them to base or you get kills and plates. Oh but lets say you're leona caitlyn vs thresh jhin? Welllll...... thresh burned his CC, but Jhin still has his root, traps, and ultimate. This is NOT go time. You dive under the tower, MAYBE get a kill, but if thresh gets a flay off and jhin W's, you're taking 2-3 tower shots and probably dying. Also if you don't kill Jhin, he has a chance to turn and ult from further in the lane at you after you take some serious tower damage, probably getting a kill.
