In my experience it's nearly impossible to lane against Aphelios without trying him out due to not getting a feel for his abilities by looking them up. He's a lot harder to read than he is to play. Aphelios aside, it's a really bizarre restriction to begin with. Either new/returning players get their asses handed to them by champions that they don't know about for the same reason, or they get extremely lucky with the weekly free rotation. Edit: Having to jump such a hoop as installing PBE for a simple thing like this is the issue. There is absolutely no objective excuse for it not to be a convenient feature in the main client, other games do it just fine. I find this interesting due to him commenting this quickly after TFblade, Akaadian and Damonte lost, to TCS favorite, MU, a collegiate team that has been known for being one of the best amateur teams, and probably the best collegiate team of recently. | I would love to have Pick'em for LEC Posted: 14 Dec 2019 02:17 AM PST (English isn't my first language, i tried my best but sorry in advance) In Worlds, i really liked the Pickem. I had to look for team's performance in their region and then evaluate their level, predict who will win each match. There was a ranking about every single one doing pickem too, it really felt rewarding. Why not put a similar system for LEC ? It's not that hard to implement, and i think it would bring up viewership and hype. I think that more people will take an interest for every teams in lec. (I mean, if you want to do a power ranking, you need to look for every single one in the ranking, right ?) there would be 3 differents phases, each giving points 1) offseason ranking As of today, LEC start in 39 days (i think). That's a lot. I can't wait and there's no content to entertain me. Wouldn't it be nice if i had a reason to rewatch last season match/players performance ? With an offseason team ranking, people would have to look for last season player's performance, synergy, history of the team (By that, i mean, for example, how TSM ruin every single jungler they have) the mercato etc and to estimate the power level of every single team in LEC. And then, each week, we would see the hope of many fans burning, seeing how their favorite team they put in top 3 is actually in the top last 3 (Hello 2019 MSF spring AND summer (and probably 2020 too, but i'm in the rogue hype train this time). In spring 2019, when i heard that Rogue and Excel was in LEC, i couldn't care less about them. I didn't know who they were and had no reason to look for infos. But if i had an incentive to do so, maybe i would had found that they were performing really well in their ERL, and that they had had promising rookies, then maybe i would have rooted for them. In the end, i would have known a lot more about the players, their story, their team etc just before lec start. (Here's examples of thought i could have) Would thoses rookies actually perform or are they just overhyped ? Maybe i should take a look at their ERL's performance This super team looks strong, but will they have synergy ? There's a korean import and it seems to not work anymore. This team was the best of lec and they didn't change a thing, they still should be the best. This one was looking really strong and they really improved their main weak point, how far will they go ? etc 2) BO1 prediction, week by week Last season, I didn't watch every single match, only the ones i was looking for. But let's imagine each week, i needed to make predictions for the next one. Then, I would have an incentive to watch every single match ! I would have to know how well they performed, what are their weaknesses, strong points etc. And because I made a prediction, even if i don't like the teams playing, I would have a reason to watch the match, to see if I was right ! Then i would go to the weakly reddit thread, to see what are the experts analysts thinking about next week matches. 3) PlayOff prediction Basically the same system there's for worlds. Maybe we can imagine some reward for the best analyst and fan of lec out there ? I can imagine something like : - If you filled every single prediction, and watch enough matches, you receive a special icon "lec fan" - We can imagine a weekly mission in client, to fill the prediction for lec ? -If you're in the 10% best, you recieve an orb (wouldn't cost them a thing, but may bring a lot of money and viewership, so i think this would be worth it) -if you're in the 1% best you recieve a special package "20xx LEC Analyst" (idk, maybe an icon, a border, or something like a throphy in a hall of fame you would find in your profile ? Would be nice for players investing lot of time in the game since season 2 to be able to show off and to be rewarded) -And for the 100 best one, they would have the right to buy lec playoffs ticket (one, for themselves) before everyone else.
