| Never forget how insanely difficult this game is Posted: 19 Dec 2019 12:58 AM PST Don't feel bad if you have been playing for a long time and you are silver or gold. I think it's easy to lose perspective if you've been playing this game for a long time and what seems totally obvious to you once required a big time investment to learn. I began playing this game in January and arrogantly assumed I would hit at least platinum this year because I had played Starcraft 2 at high diamond and HotS (lul) to mid-masters. After getting placed at Iron 2, 900 games later I am comfortably nestled at gold 3. I seriously underestimated how complex and nuanced League was. Sure there are a lot of transferable skills but this game is primarily about making decisions based on game knowledge. Don't beat yourself up or call yourself trash if in reality you are sitting pretty close to the centre of the bell curve- people who play this game are very dedicated and one of the most skilled gaming communities I have encountered. | Riot and their Service Status (could be better) Posted: 19 Dec 2019 01:54 PM PST When I started League of Legends this evening, i sat in a login queue with is pretty rare on EUW. Worried by the fact that the numbers on the Queue were static or missing completly, I had a look at their new Service Status Page. After i didn't find the Button to switch to EUW (it defaults to NA even though i am logged in with an EUW account) and edited the url by hand, i found two current Messages:
Looking at these messages i would think we should be able to play Normals or ARAM, but we dont. I think Riot should give some accurate and precise information on issues like these, for example an estimate would also nice to have. Especially the second message seems more like a "catch-all" message to me, whenever there is some issue, we get this message without any details or updates whatsoever. I personally have the feeling these message where better when the Service Status messages were Forum Threads and Rioters occasionally replied with updates to them. EDIT: The Region switch is grey on black background below the "About League of Legends" link. BTW Even the EUW client links to the NA Service Status [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 19 Dec 2019 02:47 AM PST I've noticed that the pro player doinb has been using ardent censer on Diana, so after testing it out myself, i made a post on summonerschool 2 days ago explaining how it works. The post got a lot of attention, especially from the western pros who are also using it now, so i'll explain it here for anyone who is interested. Why would you buy Ardent Censer on Diana? So basically, the new diana can no longer "only" stick to raw ap items because she got base damage + cooldown nerfs to her abilities, and she also lost the mana regen on passive. She is more reliant on CDR now than ever. Ardent Censer is VERY gold efficient, for only 2300g you get:
ALL of these stats are incredibly useful on the new Diana because of how her new kit is designed. It gives a huge powerspike that allows you to snowball the early game and get your items faster. Another thing i would like to mention is the precision tree, and how this entire tree works so well with her current kit. Conqueror is absolutely nuts on Diana and gives her a ridiculous amount of sustain in extended fights(Yes, it is by far the best keystone for her atm). Extended fights is where ardent censer shines because of the attack speed and on-hit damage. The reworked Diana has mana problems since she lost her mana regen passive. The one rune that solves this problem entirely is presence of mind that gives up to 500 bonus mana and restoring a percentage upon takedowns. The additional attack speed from alacrity has great synergy with her passive and items. (You can go for tenacity if they have a lot of cc). Coup de grace is good because it's consistent damage. If a player has not left the base after 3 minutes, not bought any items (cookies dont count), not gotten his ward trinket, and has been announced as disconnected- shouldnt you be able to remake? A caricature of Taylor Swift's face has been chiseled into the abomination's face. She is smiling, her famous lips puckered up and suckering for satiation. Her freakish, uncanny, lithe cat body is exposed, appearing almost to be made from marble and covered head to toe in rotted fir moss. Having claimed your hairball, she twists and performs a pirouette that leaves her inches from your face. That is not emotion on her face. It is nothing. As placid as your surroundings. You feel as loved as a writhing cockroach past its first stomp, and due to die on the second. The light burns out in your eyes and gives away to a deluge of inarticulatable tears. "With no... beauty... in my memory..." All the pain fades. You feel nice, warm. Cozy, like a cat resting by the fire. You wiggle your ties. You pinch a whisker. Smiling dumbly, you prance into the nonexistence. Bombalurina Yuumi comes out next week!
