The problem with creepblock is not that it exists, it's that it's glitchy and unpredictable, and so achieves the complete opposite of it's intended purpose.

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 09:23 AM PST

Riot has stated in the past that they will not remove creepblock because it would make them feel nonexistent and uninteractive in the game. And that makes sense, and I agree with it.

However in its current state, creepblock is completely unpredictable. There is no way to meaningfully manage that aspect of the game because it's an intangible, uncontrollable occurrence that cannot even be predicted or avoided if it could. If riot wants to assert that creepblock is good because it makes the minions feel "real", then it actually has to do that. Right now minions don't feel real at all. Most of the time I can't even stand near my wave because I have no idea where I'm going to path if I walk up to kill a minion.

Final point: for something to feel real, it has to interact and behave in a predictable, controllable way. It has to obey some sort of law of physics. That is a requirement for things in real life, so it has to be the same way in game. When a champion ability doesn't behave exactly the way it's supposed to, it's a problem and the bug gets fixed (or at least it's supposed to). Minion pathing needs the same treatment.

Actually really skeptical that Broxah makes TL a top team from where they are. That's a lot of pressure for anyone to inherit. Also a massive negative blow to Shernfire's career (that he likely doesn't deserve) if they do somehow turn it completely around with Broxah. https://twitter.com/karonmoser/status/1227073479146491904?s=19

Soloq has become about who has the most untiltable, mentally strong players.

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 09:43 AM PST

In my experience, soloq right now is about having the less tilted players on your team. More frequently than I ever do I experience players who leave the game out of frustration because of another player or because of how their lane went. Sometimes these players don't leave but will make the game as hard for you as possible not contributing to the game positively, like for instance, an adc sidelaning alone permantly not caring about getting killed, or a player not wanting to come to baron even when enemy team is aced (and pushing is not an option).

It's really frustrating that the game becomes less about skill and macro knowledge but more about luck in terms of having teammates that are willing to play games from behind and try to come back.

League of Legend's ESRB rating summary is pretty funny

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 08:52 AM PST

    Rating summary:

This is a multiplayer strategy game in which players assume the role of magical "summoners" who settle political disputes with arena-based battles. From a 3/4–overhead perspective, players control animal- and human-like warriors who use swords, arrows, guns, and magic attacks to kill opponents' minions in melee-style combat. Higher kill counts result in additional achievements (e.g., "leveling up"). Battles are accompanied by slashing sounds, colorful projectiles, and red blood splashes; one vampire warrior's attacks cause larger blood-pooling effects. A variety of female characters are depicted in form-fitting outfits that expose mild cleavage; suggestive jokes can occasionally be heard in the dialogue (e.g., "Sorry boys, I keep the fuzzy cuffs at home," "Is that a rocket in your pocket?" and "For only $2.95 a minute, I'll leave you breathless."). One playable character drinks frequently from an oversized cask, slurring phrases such as "The only time I have a drinking problem is when I spill it"; his Drunken Rage ability can be used to reduce inflicted damage. A few sequences also include warriors with lit cigarettes/smoking pipes.

The Review: Patch 10.3 Balance Change Analysis by the Numbers

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 12:21 PM PST

Hey all! Welcome back to The Review, where I use tables and numbers to talk about what Riot's most recent balance patch actually affected, and by how much.

Patch 10.3, like many recently, focused on individual champion changes, as Riot hasn't done too much in the way of system or item changes since the preseason ended. There were small jungle adjustments, but other than that, we're sticking to the champion by champion changes for now:

    Champion Changes:

    Champion Role Change WR 10.2 ⇒ WR 10.3 PR 10.2 ⇒ PR 10.3

    Notes:

    • Akali: I feel like I'd be beating a dead horse by elaborating here. She's over 40% so uh, that's good I guess?

    • Corki: We're remembering Corki's a champion this early in the season? We're a long way from worlds Riot, this usually starts up over Summer Split.

    • Sett: These nerfs hit him harder than he hits other people. WR drops of between ~2.5 and ~4.5%, depending on role.

    • Sona: With her pick rate spiking by over 300%, looks like Riot is trying to get ahead of this one. Will be worth tracking how her WR moves as her PR continues to rise.

We should get a hostile, skillshot-firing practice dummy for practice tool.

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 06:22 PM PST

The one thing we can't really drill in practice tool is dodging, because the dummies just kinda sit there doing nothing.

There should be a hostile practice dummy that just picks a skillshot from a table of random skillshots and fires it at you at random intervals so you can practice dodging. Morgana bindings, Ezreal Qs, Elise cocoons, Leona zenith blades, Nautilus hooks -- just load up a table with a bunch of random skillshots and have the dummy fire them at the player.

Maybe you could have an option on the dummy on whether it stays still or moves to the player on things like zenith blade. Maybe you could toggle whether or not the player actually gets CC'd from CC abilities. Maybe you could include a slider to adjust the frequency at which it casts skillshots.
    Idk. use your imagination.

Point is -- we need a skillshot firing hostile dummy to practice dodging.
