Healing is out of hand and Grevious Wounds isn't enough anymore to tackle it

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 07:08 AM PDT

Along with Sylas beeing totally unfair at the moment to say the least, healing in general has become crazy in this game with the Conqueror and the recent Death Dance changes. Even without complaining about the champions abusing healing, there are a lot of difficulties to build anti-healing. The goal of this post isn't to criticise Sylas but rather the curent state of healing in the game, i'm not willing to make any sort of list, if you play the game you know which champs i'm talking about.

Building an Executionner's Calling is only possible on AD champions (without trolling too much), though if you build it on an ADC it is going to take you an item slot which means you have less room for damage and will inevitably fall off lategame (when you are supposed to carry).

Moreover, even without concidering lategame, healing champions have a powerspike in midgame around 20 mins where it is crucial for AD champions to have items. So building an 800 golds item at 20 mins just to counter one champion isn't worth so there will be no anti-healing when you will need it the most. And that is IF you have an AD champion that is not an ADC who is prompt to build Executionner's calling.

But all these issues are for AD champions, if you have an AP based teamcomp it's even more difficult as your only option is Morello. Which costs 3000 golds and gives nearly no stats compared to the standards starting items which give Mana, CDR and so on. So getting Morello is suicidal in most AP champions as it gives no stats and costs a lot to, again, tackles only one champion. If that was me, i would put the Grevious Wounds effect on the Oblivion Orb (necessary to build Morello) which costs 1600 golds and therefore would allow you to build anti-healing and finish the Morello later.

The final item option is Bramble Vest but unless you are playing a champion with a taunt you cannot guarantee that the champion you are trying to counter is going to AA on you. (And even if you have a taunt it means that you are playing either Rammus Shen or Galio. But Rammus sucks against AP comps, Shen's taunt is meant to nullify the AA damages with his W so you won't actualy apply Grevious Wounds and who the fck builds tank items and Galio?)

The only option remaining is Ignite but it has very little value lategame compared to TP or Exhaust.

Though the most frustrating thing about this whole story is that Grevious wounds itself isn't even enough. The champions curently abusing healing are healing A LOT so 40% reduction isn't even close to beeing enough compared to all the options a healing champion has to enhance its healing (Runes, Spirit Visage, Death Dance, flat AP/AD). So this forces you to go for stronger healing reductions provided by a small set of champions namely Katarina and Kled providing a 60% healing reduction.

So all that beeing said, i think it's clear that it is way too hard to tackle healing at the moment. Healing has evolved a lot through the last seasons with runes, items and even champion designs so it's very easy to get a lot of healing now but its counterplay actualy hasn't evolved much since so it needs more attention.

    Source for grevious wounds: https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Grievous_Wounds

EDIT: The funniest fact is that Heal (the summoner spell) actualy HALVES your healing after cast so when you play a healing champion you actualy have to fear more your own ADC's heal than an enemy ignite or Grevious Wounds items! Nevermind, the debuff only applies to healing from other Heal summoner spells and not to all sources.

[Skin idea] Queen Bee Syndra 2.0

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:58 AM PDT

[Skin idea] Queen Bee Syndra 2.0

    New version

    Old version

I made a concept design of a Queen Bee Syndra skin a while back and while it's still lovely to look at, I got the feeling that the "bee" aspect could be clearer. Aside of her buzzing spheres, there actually wasn't that much identifying the skin as bee-themed.

So I took a new approach with version 2 above. I dropped the semi royal outfit in favor of a more kinky variant, picking up the bee typical body colors along the way. The colors and forms in her hair are chosen in a way to balance the outfit towards a light-hearted overall impression. Bee themed skins are supposed to be fun in my opinion and this way she has a bit of a fairy flair to her.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 08:14 PM PDT

According to a conversation I had with OZ on twitter, Crown should be starting tonight for OZ gaming against Brion Blade. This will also be not only the first time a LCK player to represent the region at worlds will play in CK after their worlds appearance, but also the first time a former world champion has played in a challenger league on a non-academy team (Piglet played with TL Academy in NACS 2016 Summer). The match starts at 14:00 KST and is a Bo3

You should be able to play all champs in practice tool, not just the ones you have.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 12:02 AM PDT

Im a player from late 2016 and i already own most champs, but if a new player is wondering who he should buy, he cant try someone if he isnt in free champion rotation. For example he has 6.5 k BE and decides he wants to buy a 6.3k champ. He buys a champ, tries him out and doesnt like him. He has to waste his refunds. If he could have tried him in practice tool he would have known that he didnt like the champ. Btw buff Kog'maw.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 12:25 PM PDT

For the whole last week playing on EUW server is such a task right now, you should spend one hour trying to connect and even when you log in the client crashes or is too flawed.

I dont get how Riot a multi-billion company with 200+ years experience can't even fix the basic of their game on one the three most popular server

Fun fact: as of this split, LB has passed Ryze as the highest presence champion in Pro Play since S4

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:47 AM PDT

with a net 5008 games pick or banned compared to Ryze's 4963, with a full 370 games this split more that she was picked or banned than Ryze. However, LB has been played in almost 600 less games than Ryze, making it up in the ban department.

Gragas is almost making moves to push Ryze down to 3rd, gragas is only 50 games behind Ryze on the all time presence list, and considering that Ryze buffs are at least a month out in pro play, even if the ryze buffs return him to pick/ban Gragas will almost certainly lap ryze, at least for a little bit.

    Other all time Fun Facts

the most pick champion since S4 is braum with 3477 games played, holding a lead by 172 picks on gragas, with Thresh in third

LB is the most banned champion since S4 with 582 more bans than the next closest competitor ryze. 3rd place is Kalista.

Braum has won more pro games than any other champion, but with a narrow 13 game lead over Gragas. Gragas meanwhile has a 364 game lead over Thresh at 3rd.

Partially as a result of their pick rates, Braum and Grag are also the most losing champions in pro play with a 99 game gap. The third place however is the surprise appearance of Ezreal, albeit with a 467 game gap between him and Grag. Ezrael has 728 games played less than Gragas

Asol has the highest win rate of any champion in pro play at 60%, followed by Zed and Aphelios at 58%. However, ASol has only been played in about 1% of pro games ever, with Zed at 3% and Aphelios at 2%.

Since we like talking about new champions: the highest all time win ratios currently have Aphelios at 3rd, Qiyana at 4th, and Senna at 5th,

Yuumi has the highest KDA of any champion in pro play with 5.8, but actually only has a 48% win rate. This compared to 2nd place Senna who averages a 5.6 KDA but a 56% win rate.

Xayah and Kasia have the highest CS per min at 10.0 and 9.9 respectively.

The highest DPM champions are Xerath, Ziggs, and Ezrael.

All champions have seen some pro play since s4. The least any champion has been played in pro play is Tryndamere at 2 games, one of which was this season (a loss), but the other one was actually during s3 worlds. GamerGear with NBS on trydnamere defeated TSM during a meme game in which Regi played Teemo and role swapped with Wildturtle, and xpecial and dyrus role swapped.

all stats are from gamesoflegends, which only tracks up to s4 specifically but does seem to track some limited stats before then.

Imagine increasing dodge penalties when it's still possible to get autofilled adc AND support on the same team

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 07:24 AM PDT

I'm at 95 LP, really wanna win this game, get into champ select and I'm autofilled support. I let folks know I'm autofilled, turns out our ADC is also autofilled. Everyone in the lobby was nice, I would have been thrilled with my teammates were I in my role, or even if I were supporting a good ADC. But not dodging that game is inting.

In queue for < 2 minutes btw and that was the first lobby I'd joined.

Ironically, getting one of your champions banned in Clash is an amazing feeling.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 01:07 PM PDT

Instead of being frustrated when one of your mains gets banned (like in soloqueue), it is actually validating when the other team scouts you and bans your main. It feels like you are skilled enough to force the other team to "waste" one of their resources on you because you are a threat.

Clash is actually amazing, and it allows the rest of us the chance to experience a competitive environment in league. Shout-out to the creators for this amazing experience.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 06:16 PM PDT

Wave clear nerfs dont really do anything when he gets tiamat. Even if the mana cost isnt high on his E it will still be the proper way of bringing down his roaming potential considering how uninteractive his laning is..

A full list of outdated/inaccurate things found in ability showcasing videos found in League Client

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 07:52 AM PDT

A few days ago there was some conversation going on about a few outdated videos showcasing champions' abilities in the LoL's client (Aurelion Sol for example). This, to put it simply, piqued my interest, and got me curious as to how many more things like these can be found (besides, the quarantine isn't ending any time soon and I've got nothing better to do so there's that).

As it turns out, there's a **lot** of inaccuracies found there, not to a point of utter unplayability thankfully, it's not like Fiddlesticks or Mordekaiser still have their pre-rework abilites featured there, though I was surprised to see that some inconsistencies were found in the videos for most recent champions as well. I'm aware that it's not Riot's current top priority and that there are other, external sources that players can use to see how abilities work and find an up-to-date information. I still think that it's something worth keeping in mind, and something that could be taken care of down the line, especially when we take new/casual players into account who don't browse every source possible and keep up with patch notes on a daily basis, they might appreciate those slick previews being as recent as possible. I'd also like to put out a disclamer here that this isn't some super epic rant to own the Rioters, nor that everything on this list must be fixed ASAP, I'd rather call it my way of killing time and sharing some research with folks around here, nothing much besides that.

For those of you who are also curious and want to get to it, this is the full list of all the things not presented right, with the information being either missing, outdated or not that accurate, enjoy. (

    Aatrox:

    (P) - Still shows healing/shielding reduction effect, also the video doesn't load, the only thing there is a thumbnail

    (R) - The video doesn't load, unlike Passive, there's not even a thumbnail

    Ahri:

    (P) - Still shows the old Passive

    Akali:

    (P) - Doesn't have a video at all even though it can be presented

    (Q) - Still shows healing particles

    (R) - Still shows the microstun being applied

    Amumu:

Still shows old VFX on all abilities

    Anivia:

Still shows old VFX on all abilites

    Annie:

    (E) - Doesn't show the movement speed boost

    (R) - Doesn't show that Tibbers can gain the effect of Annie's E

    Aphelios:

It's just a total mess, some stuff is thrown all over the place (Inferum Q being featured in P video), some is omitted (Calibrum AA, Chakram Q) and some is incomplete (Only two out of five ult variants are showcased)

    Aurelion Sol:

    (W) - Still presented as a toggle skill

    Azir:

    (W) - Doesn't show the attack speed bonus gained from controlling 3+ soldiers

    (R) - Still shows that dashes can be blocked by the wall

    Blitzcrank:

Still shows old VFX on all abilities

    (R) - Still shows the old Passive

    Diana:

    (P) - Doesn't show attack speed boost on ability cast

    Draven:

    (W) - Doesn't show cooldown being reset when an Axe (Q) is caught

    Dr. Mundo:

How is it that a third party program (OP.GG) is a more reliable way to view match history than Riot’s official client?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:47 PM PDT

Match history has been messed up for weeks now even though the matches are still being recorded. Would a rioter or someone working to solve the problem care to explain a little bit about what's going on?

My account got hijacked years ago and Riot unbanned it!

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 11:37 AM PDT

I haven't played this game in years because after my account got stolen in 2015? 2016? And then subsequently banned after for suspicious activity. I tried to get back into the game but I was easily discouraged with how long it took me to unlock all the champions again. And how much I spent on skins. I reached out to support last week and did as much as I could to prove it was me. I gave them all my summoner names and even ancient screenshots of me on OG summoner's rift as OG Tristana. Well today I got my account back and it feels so good to be back on the rift. I haven't played since high school so it brings me back

SB vs. T1 Game 1 Discussion

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 01:49 AM PDT

SKT back on top boys. Not the cleanest game because they gave up some objectives, but I feel like they were in control the entire time.

    Also, Teddy cs is life.

Approximately 118 BILLION Chickens (Raptors) Are Killed EVERY YEAR in League!

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 07:40 AM PDT

According to the internetz approximately 27,000,000 people play League of Legends every single day. Now that's a lot of people, but more importantly that's a lot of animals dying. Specifically let's look at the chickens.

If 27,000,000 people play league every day then that means there are about 5,400,000 junglers whose sole duty is to slaughter the poor jungle creatures.

Lets assume that one jungler is responsible for murders of lets say 7 chickens camps alone. This is completely reasonable considering the avg. league game is about 35 minutes and the respawn time on the chicken camp is 2 minutes. Let's then assume the rest of your team is responsible for killing another 3 chicken camps that game, bringing the total to 10 chicken camps for one team.

Now multiple that number by 2 to add the other teams death count giving you a total of 20 chicken camps per game.

Now multiply 20 by 6 because that's the number of innocent chickens in each camp giving you a total of 120 chickens per game.

Assuming everyone plays only 1 game of league, which NO ONE does btw, then we get about 2,700,000 games played per day. We can now multiply 120 chickens*2,700,000 games = 324,000,000 chickens killed per DAY! Now multiply that by the amount of days in a year, 365.

324,000,000*365=118,260,000,000 CHICKENS KILLED PER YEAR! Keep in mind 83% of those chickens are only infants. What a sad thing to think about.

Ivern would be so disappointed, SAVE THE CHICKENS and stop the madness! #Skipthechickencamp

Switched to League from Dota after 8000 hours, feeling like I'm finally having fun again.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 01:49 AM PDT

UPDATE: Weird enough, after this post, I haven't won a single game. I'm currently at 15 losses in a row :(. Just stop it please

I have been playing Dota for 5 years, I got about 8000 hours on the game. Since one year or something the game seems absolutely dead, there are only smurfs, cheaters, very very toxic people.

I tried getting into League before, like 1 year ago, but for some reason at that time I didn't enjoy it that much. Now, because of the quarantine I decided I will try League again with some friends. And for some reason I'm actually enjoying it a lot. Actually the reason might be that I love the feeling when you are a new player, because it's amazing to learn new stuff. I remember doing that on Dota, but now after 8000 hours, there's absolutely nothing to learn.

I'm having lots of fun trying new champions and getting these rewards. I'm mainly playing support, I absolutely love Soraka! It's just an amazing feeling to keep my cores low hp but not enough to die and constantly bait the enemy. I play some mid as well (I used to be a mid only player on Dota) and for now I enjoy Ahri, because I think positioning skill is very important on her. I even got this "K/DA Ahri" skin in a lootbox, which is amazing, I got lucky there I guess. I'm not used to these kind of rewards. Also, I'm trying my best to learn Qiyana, I like the concept so much. It's hard, but after like 20 games with her I kind of got the idea.

Now I'm level 33 already after like one month of playing only League and not touching Dota. I'm looking forward to unlock Ranked soon. Maybe the only downside is that I find people often more toxic than on other games, but I also got some amazing people in my games that teached me, which I am very grateful for.

I'm enjoying it so much that I can't wait to finish my work at university sometimes just so I can play more. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Original 2011 Season 1 Guide on how to play Garen and Sivir, written on back of our English test.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2020 10:08 PM PDT

I just found these in my year book, My best friend got me into league in 2011 and in class he wrote out a guide on how to play two champs I was interested in. And so on the back on his English test, one day he wrote them out. There are some old relics in these pages. Sorry for the quality my scanner didn't like these.
