    Zoe is Important for Pro-Play Because She Inhibits Stagnation

    Zoe has always been a controversial Champion, and her presence in pro-play gets met with plenty of criticism. I'm here to demonstrate why she is important. To do that, I will need to make clear what I mean by "stagnation" in this context.

    Stagnation occurs in a professional match when neither side (whether in-lane or before team fights) is willing to make a move, resulting in neither side engaging or willing to commit. Why does stagnation happen? Mostly because of the amount of damage in the game. Due to the high stakes inherent to a professional match, pro-players are very cautious, because even a single death can have profound consequences. This has resulted in some lackluster play in the past, where both teams simply bide their time by farming. High damage trickles through every part of the game, having effects like reducing vision; impacting Jungle, Support, and Toplane; and snowballing.

    Zoe, however, is a Champion that can avoid having lanes stagnate and can trigger the advancement of a match.

    During the laning phase, stagnation can occur if both laners mutually agree to minimize engaging against each other and instead give greater focus on farming. It is through the intervention of another team member (such as a Jungler) that would typically bring this stagnation to an end. Zoe, however, can earn Spell Shards by getting the last hit on balloon minions, and these Spell Shards can give her the opportunity to engage. Therefore, laning as or against Zoe is never stagnant, as the state of the battlefield can change at any moment. If you ignore Zoe while laning against her, you may find yourself outgunned when a Spell Shard drops. With this in mind, the enemy laner knows they must interact with Zoe, and thus stagnation is avoided.

    Outside of laning phase, stagnation can occur at the edge of a team fight, particularly around objectives. It's not uncommon for both teams to prepare for a team fight, such as around the Dragon or Baron, with both sides nervously milling about for an opportunity to make a move. Zoe, on the other hand, does not play this way. With her ability to apply meaningful damage, if she is able to land her skillshots against a member of the enemy team, this creates an opening for her team to act. The enemy team, meanwhile, is aware that they cannot simply allow this to happen, so they must engage before Zoe can do this. And thus stagnation is avoided.

    Zoe is important to have in professional play for one more reason: Spell Thief. As it stands, Zoe is the only Champion in the game who acts as a deterrent to and punishes the irresponsible use of Summoner Spells and item-actives. If Zoe is not in the game, the enemy team is free to use them however they wish.

    However, if Zoe is in the game, then if the enemy is heedlessly using Summoner Spells and item-actives, it will provide Zoe with many more tools to use against them. This results in players having to be more thoughtful of the consequences when they use their Flash and Zhonya's and anything else. Let me repeat that: the presence of Zoe in a game makes the enemy team need to be more thoughtful in how they play. This is a good thing. Being able to use a bunch of extra effects from Summoner Spells and item-actives gives players too many ways to increase their impact without any repercussions. Zoe changes that, as she can and will punish those who drop Spell Shards irresponsibly.

    IMPORTANT - Huge log file sizes after recent launcher crashes (over 35GB)

    I've been having some trouble lately connecting to EUW server. In the night from April 7th to 8th, the LoL Launcher / Menu wasn't able to startup, or it crashed after starting. A friend told me to kill some Riot Processes in my PC so I did that and it worked once or twice.

    Today I noticed my System drive was almost full, so I checked on WinDirStat and found out LoL logs were using 36GB of disk space.

    You should probably check this out in your own PC and most likely delete these logs if your drive is almost full

    I got Grandmaster playing only Fiddlesticks, here is a list of suggestions for quality of life changes

    I just got Grandmaster playing only the newly reworked Fiddlesticks. I've been playing Fiddlesticks since season 1 and was in challenger every season except for a few.

    The rework overall is not bad especially in terms of power, I think the champion is really strong but most people don't know how to play him. He can't be played like old Fiddle and you have to be a very patient player.

    Here is a list of things I would like to see Riot implement or at least think about and iterate:

    • There needs to be an indication of when his passive is activated. At the moment, I have to guess when I am T-posed and appear as an effigy to my opponents. Some sort of indication near or around his health bar would be a huge improvement to his passive for me.

    • There needs to be an indication of when his abilities will fear. I know for his ult this indication is present on opponents, and I know this can be abused to discern whether or not certain areas are warded. Maybe match the range of this indication with the range of his E. It's very hard to tell whether or not my abilities will fear.

    • His Q should not have a missile/projectile. I know this matches his cast time and there is technically no missile speed and functions the same way as his old Q. However, aesthetically this looks weird and if they really want visual clarity they should make it look like a tendril or something that looks more 'fear-like' (Thinking something like nocturne's E.)

    • I want to be able to disable the danger ping on my effigy. It confuses my teammates and sends mixed signals on what I want to do. If I were to put an effigy in a bush as I'm running away in the middle of a team fight, my team will think I want to back out when they hear the danger ping.

    • I want to be able to know what action my effigy will fake before-hand. I know this is probably a straight up buff but I think more cool plays can happen if I know what my effigy will do. Even better if I can pick.

    • Maybe an indication of who is in drain range would be nice. I often run up to targets thinking they're in drain range but aren't. This problem isn't huge and is least important on the list.

    I won't speak for balance. Power-wise, I think he's one of the strongest junglers in the game with an incredibly weak early game. There are a few changes in terms of power shifting that I would like to see but I can't speak for the balance team.

    Also:

    There is a small bug with his drain where you will get the last tick but moving after it will count as canceling your drain and won't refund the cooldown. This happens maybe 1 in 30 drains.

    There is another bug where starting an auto attack animation on a target that is dying will instantly put you into your passive T-pose and you will appear as an effigy.

    Edit: another bug I forgot about; his robot skin doesn't have the scythe properly attached to the rest of the model during the slowest walk animation.

    I hope these suggestions are at least thought about.

    This is not a Ryoma hate thread

    I'm not even specifically talking about this split in particular, but in the past there's been instances where a NA rookie midlaner is performing poorly and instead of developing them and giving them one full split to play, they get benched halfway through the split.

    Compare this to players like Ryoma or even Jensen who look absolutely abysmal in their first few weeks in the LCS, but were given full backing and support by their orgs and developed into amazing talent given proper time.

    Arguments can be made for players that tanked like Soligo and even 2017 GG but those players weren't ready for the big stage. I'm talking about players in Academy like AblazeOlive, Insanity, and Yusui that have shown signs of promise. Damonte showed a lot of promise and even though his career's trajectory was trending upward he didn't find a starting spot this split.

    Players like Kumo, Johnsun, Zeyzal, Blabber, and Licorice are proof that there are top players in academy that are worth developing and taking a shot on.

    I would like to see these players get some stage time and if possible one full split of play before they get benched.

    How different would League of Legends be if every player was limited to 1 account?

    I'm trying to imagine a world where no one can have more than 1 account, thus completely removing smurfing from the game.

    Would it eventually effect champion balance?

    I can't imagine low elo highlight streamers like Professor Akali, Nightblue3 (and many others) actually streaming any more, they would most likely move onto a different game.

    But apart from that, what would the game be like if there literally was no possible smurfing?

    Aesthetically, why does Volatile Spiderling have a 95% AP ratio?

    Other 90+% AP ratios:

    • A giant freakin' laser

    • Literal Dragonfire

    • A freakin' meteor made of Dark Matter

    • Tapping into a leyline and unleashing the full might of ancient vastayan magic

    • A colossus hitting you with a megaton punch

    • Old Sion looking at you funny for some reason

    Here's some powerful abilities that don't even get a 90+% AP ratio

    • A literal mountain leaping on top of you

    • A bear made of fire appearing on top of you

    • An entire barrel of extremely concentrated alcohol igniting into a fireball.

    • Being encased in True Ice

    • A galaxy-sized dragon breathing the light what makes galaxies over you and destroying probably your entire solar system.

    Meanwhile, Elise is just sitting there going: "haha explodey spider go splat"
