Small reminder that Riot hates Frogs

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 03:44 AM PDT

Right now is Riots opportunity to show whether or not they genuinely care about inting.

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 02:07 PM PDT

Riot has recently been on a crusade around trying to combat toxicity, create a much more enjoyable and safe in game experience, and cull out toxic players they support. The fact of the matter though, is that they've gone ahead and managed to fuck it all up.

Hai, for example, not only got chat restricted for pointing out that someone was AFK, but this was doubled down on by Riot publicly, and was subsequently put him on probation from their Partnership Program.

In a stark contrast, it took Tyler1 calling Riot names regarding this situation because HE HIMSELF was still in the Program while being absolutely more toxic.

With SRO inting on VOD, right now is the perfect time for them to finally do the right thing regarding this situation. The VOD in question has an 0/6 SRO walk into the enemy team and THEN SAY HE WAS GOING TO MAKE HIS TEAM LOSE. To reiterate, he blatantly said that was intentionally trying to ruin the game for the rest of the players on his team.

All riot needs to do here, and what they really should do, is come out and permanently ban whatever account he was using and finally say that, "hey yknow what, if you ruin the competitive integrity of our game, that's it for you."

If Riot doesn't hand out punishment to SRO that extends past just taking him off LPP, I'm done with this game. I won't play another game, or spend another dollar on a game that flouts fake professional integrity and picks and chooses who to punish. These toxic streamers shouldn't be a part of their marketing campaign, and I highly urge everyone who can, to take a step back from League if they don't want to change things. You'll feel better anyways.

Thank you for your ears and I hope a few people agree with me.

Dark Tides of Bilgewater to be removed from DnD Beyond August 10th

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 01:29 PM PDT

For those unaware, on the site DnD Beyond a partnership with Riot gave Dungeons and Dragons players Bilgewater as a campaign setting, with 3 new subclasses, several items from LoL, monsters, and an adventure: all of which is on the site and available for free.

This was really well received by the D&D community, and there are even a few people who'd started campaigns with their friends on YouTube using these materials.

However... Yesterday, out of the blue, this post was uploaded by The Xanathar from DnD Beyond saying that the content will be pulled from the site and archived indefinitely from August 10th. This isn't a matter of "After August 10th, if you want to keep this you'll have to pay." No, it'll just be gone, removed, unavailable. No reason has been given as to why it's being pulled, or why they are directly contradicting previous statements made on Twitter saying "It will always be available for free!". (I'd link to it, but my internet won't connect to Twitter for some reason, it's on "@DnDBeyond")

D&D players are bumbed about this and eager to find some way of keeping the content for later use. Because right now their only option after 10/8 is to use it as "homebrew" content, which has a lot of caveats compared to official content.

I'm curious as to why the sudden 180 on keeping the content. Is it a licensing issue? Did one side get greedy so the partnership fell apart? Are they pulling it to re-balance it for a full Runeterra campaign setting? Nobody knows, and the lack of transparency around this is vexing.

False "Bug Report" by JDG Lvmao in Game 1 of JDG vs RNG results in 2 hour long pause and questionable victory by JDG.

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 01:26 PM PDT

    https://img1.famulei.com/z/5606657/p/206/1823465413115.jpg

Currently trending in LPL is a major scandal regarding the match between RNG and JDG where a false bug report by JDG Lvmao led to an improper victory by JDG. During Game 1 of RNG vs JDG today, during a fight near botside river where Yagao was caught out and killed after Lvmao used Thresh lantern on a wall. Lvmao requested a pause and reported his mistake as a bug causing a >1 hour pause in the game. The officials chronobreaked the game to the moment before Lvmao's Lantern was used. However, further investigation (via Lvmao's clicks on proview) revealed that this was not in fact a bug, and actually a mechanical misplay by Lvmao. However by then the chronobreak had already been enacted and there was no possible way to restore the gamestate to after the Thresh lantern had been botched.

RNG staff then protested against this as this was a potential game changing mistake that could decide the entire course of the game (during the redone fight, Thresh lantern would save Yagao, allow for Twisted Fate to deal significant damage/crowd control, for Zoom to teleport during the new fight, and eventually culminating in multiple kills for Loken's Aphelios and a significant tempo advantage for JDG). Also during this break, Xiaohu, who has a history of tinnitus, had been wearing headphones for a near hour long pause which caused his symptoms to manifest, and required medical attention, which further increased the pause duration. The official ruling was that RNG could protest the ruling after the series but were required to play out the game in the changed stated.

Thankfully RNG ended up winning the series, and unless that game differential has playoff implications, it wont have a significant effect on the season. But still a pretty embarrassing handling of the situation by LPL officials IMO, and even more embarrassing by Lvmao's (successful) attempt to cheat.

    Some comments from Chinese fans:

-JDG's terrible laning and macro today must have been an all day long bug

-there was an even more important bug today, JDG's nexus exploded and there should be a game rest

    -JDG basically got 3-0'd in a Bo3

-some real noble behaviour by JDG today by a high class team (referring to the Zoom nobility meme)

-High class support playing for a high class team

-The difference in class and sportsmanship between EDG and JDG is night and day (referring to OMG vs EDG last split where multiple OMG champions stopped moving and instead of taking advantage of the situation to kill off multiple OMG members, EDG players immediately called a timeout to allow OMG players to fix their connection and reset the gamestate to make things fair)

-Uzi eternal god of the rift, RNG eternal god of the contract (referring to the JackeyLove and Cryin contract situations), JDG eternal god of the bug report

    -Glad to see justice prevail

-LPL officials trying to get that 6/18 discount (every year on June 18th, online retail companies like Suning and Jingdong have a massive online sale promotion similar to Amazon prime day in the West)

-Lvmao showing why he's the LPL Finals MVP, even his mechanical blunders can bring his teammates back to life

-Lvmao must have had a lot of bugs today considering how many abilities he whiffed

-Lvmao really looking like a green hat today (Lvmao, green fur, in Chinese sounds really similar to green hat, and green hat in Chinese is slang for being a cuck)

-Green hat managed to ruin the game, force players/casters to go overtime, and waste hours of fan time

-Green hat is just being big brained, during that 2 hour break fans have nothing else to do but to buy Jingdong products

-6/18 discounts are the best, sale on toothpaste (Yagao is Chinese for toothpaste), sale on green hat, everything on Jingdong is just so free

    EDIT: some responses by pros

-Public statement by Mata: There is almost nobody out there that understands the champion Thresh better than me. (implying he can tell the difference between a bug and a mechanical misplay)

-Public statement by Zoom: Flaming me for playing like shit, I accept, flaming us JDG over this incident is too much though. When we return to play in the chronobreak is not up to us and up to the referees, we weren't trying to cheat, we were just trying to protect our assets, nobody wants to see a bug report cause this long of a pause. [regarding the public backlash towards Zoom for lack of sportsmanship using teleport immediately after chronobreak despite not doing so in the original gamestate] Next time you guys can let the referees know to grab my hands and I will afk for 2 seconds before letting me go.

-Doinb (in trolling tone): RNG is a much better team than JDG and 3-0'd them

-WE Missing and Jiumeng apparently played a bunch of Thresh vs Trundle 1v1s to make fun of the entire situation https://imgur.com/a/z9zzr57

    Gamebreaking bug on Servers

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 05:35 PM PDT

Currently there seems to be a bug that is negatively effecting game experience. Poppy and Kayn seems to be the champion culprits. Note, there's potential you may be banned if you play in a game with a user using this bug. Proceed with caution

Edit: It seems Hexflash was potentially part of the cause and the rune is being swapped for stopwatch. Please keep your eyes on this accordingly.

In Spring, Lee Sin had a 50% winrate in the LPL in 104 games, whereas in Korea Lee Sin's winrate was 27% in 48 games.

You're playing a game of 5v5 Summoner's Rift. A few minutes into the game, one of your teammates starts soft inting around the map, smiting CS, raging in all chats, and diving their fountain. You and three other teammates decide to stop playing, but he blocks the surrender vote.

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 01:39 AM PDT

He then points his Legacy Mouse Cursor at you and threatens to report you for leaving the game if you refuse to play. He tells you that if any of you sits in fountain, he's going to get your account banned for leaving. You must play while he Mobi boots it down the map. Much like the resident of Peaksville, Ohio, you must entertain him or be punished.

Who is in the wrong here? And would a tribunal system focused on edge-cases that require human review rather than chat offenses like verbal abuse be effective in combating it?

    Patch 10.12 broke Ghost's tooltip

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 11:39 AM PDT

To counteract the enormous buffs to Ghost in 10.12, the tooltip uses the wrong "its." It's now literally unplayable because its grammar is broken, pls fix. Seems like Ghost needs another buff just in case this makes Darius too weak.

    Proof here.

This game isn't worth dealing with AFKs and trolls every other game

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 12:39 AM PDT

I'm just one player but I'm uninstalling League of Legends. It's the only actionable thing I could do.

This happens at least once every 4 games. A player feeds early, blames his team for his deaths and then either goes afk or trolls and holds his team hostage.

The last time this happened, I managed to boost an afkers morale, he got back into the swing of things and we miraculously won the game.

Unfortunately, this incident gave me a realization: I'm too old for this shit and I'm not here to play Parenting Simulator.

I've played since Season 1 and I love the game. I always thought the community devolved into a bunch of children and it was a shame to see, but now I think I've had it wrong. While I've gotten older, the rest of the community stayed the same age (on average of course).

It pains me to say, but I'm going to try to go cold turkey and leave this sub as well.

    I'll be back next week.

Edit: whoa, this blew up. I'm not going to respond to everyone, but I routinely /mute all and tend to unmute when I see the AFK/troll activity start just because I want to see what potentially caused it. Usually, I resume muting all - but now and then I play Parenting Simulator. People used to value winning > teammates losing. Now, people don't see the value in winning, so they'd rather their team lose.
