Finals paused due to WildTurtle’s power going out

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 02:38 PM PDT

Now this was unexpected. I really hope that he gets his power back on, this match is too hyped.

I thought FQ played from a facility last split, anyone know when that changes?

Update: WildTurtle is being moved from his apartment, where he's played the majority of playoffs, to the FQ facility.

    LEC production team appreciation thread

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:56 AM PDT

Can we all just appreciate all the work of the LEC production team and thank them for the hard work this year? Post some kind words and your favourite moments and clips of the year :)

With the pandemic this year you would think that there is no way that the production can get any better, you would probably expect for it to be worse. But this team didn't care and took the LEC to an absolutely new level. The observers, casters, analysts, hosts and the rest of the production team of the LEC you all deserve a pat on the back for the amazing work you all did this year and the music videos are just the perfect cherry on top of the 2020 LEC cake. The LEC anthem is an absolute banger :) I LOVE IT

TSM has played already more games in playoff than the entire regular season

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:12 AM PDT

So far, TSM has played 20 playoff games:

    • GG: 3
    • Dignitas: 3
    • GG, round two: 5
    • C9: 4
    • TL: 5

That's 20. With at least 3 more games coming today against FQ, they will be up to at least 23 games played, over the span of about a month.

Possible LEC vs. LPL Matchups At Worlds

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:40 AM PDT

With G2 winning the LEC finals, I thought it would be interesting to see the possible LEC vs. LPL matchups at worlds group stage. Assuming MAD and LGD make it out of play-ins, each group at group stage will have an LEC vs. LPL matchup. The possible matchups that can be drawn are as follows:

G2 can draw JDG, Suning, or LGD

FNC can only draw TES or LGD because JDG and Suning will be in the same pool as FNC

Rogue can draw TES, JDG, Suning, or LGD

MAD could be drawn into TES, JDG, or Suning (MAD can also play against LGD in play-ins)

What do you think about these possible matchups?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 12:32 PM PDT

The little green circle on the mini team display, above the map, shows Yone as having his ultimate available. This has been in scince his release and is pretty big. I do make a ton of decisions based off team cooldowns, has happened every single game with Yone where i make a play thinking he has ult to follow up. Please fix this. Its so small probably a couple minuites fix. Thanks, and please feel free to repost/make a better post for coverage.

Congratulations on the 21th team to Qualify for Worlds!

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:15 AM PDT

    V3 3-2 DFM
V3 Esports from the LJL picks up the series versus the previous winner DetonatioN FocusMe, breaking their streak of going to worlds. For the first time in a lot of year, Japan sends another team to worlds. This also means Bugi, previous jungler of Flash Wolves, makes it to worlds once again makes it to the international stage again, previously been to MSI.

This split have looked more competitive than ever. LJL is looking like a non-bottom tier emerging region for once. While it is doubtful they make it out of playoffs, it seems like the format gives more opportunities and perhaps a glimpse of hope of making it out.

Edit: Just want to thank the unofficial english coverage of the LJL, LJL Officially Unofficial, who casted all of the split, as well as last split, bring podcast and content! They're all great guys and I hope they get the recognition they deserve to bring such a following for the region.

Showmaker stats for his career in summer splits are absolutely insane.

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:58 AM PDT

I was looking at Gamepedia stats for different players going to Worlds. And Showmaker's stats absolutely dwarf everyone else's.

I had heard and seen him be dominate, but had no idea how crazy it is.

His stats across 3 summer splits:

    • 112 games

    • 78% w/r (88 wins 24 losses)

    • 11.42 KDA (146 kills per split)

    • 281 cs/g

    • 9.18 cs/m

    • 70.3% KPAR

    • 26.5% Kill Share

I didn't do exact stats for other regions best players, but I compared them to Knight, Caps, Faker, Bjergsen, BDD, and a few others. No one was even close. It's absolutely insane how well he plays in Summer specifically.

His stats last Worlds were obviously pretty great, but I'm hyped to see him get another shot.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

With the results of the LCS 2020 Summer Finals, a very interesting match-up in the Worlds 2020 Group Stage is now possible

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:59 PM PDT

With DWG winning LCK 2020 Summer, and FlyQuest coming 2nd in LCS 2020 Summer, it is now possible for the two teams to meet in the Group Stage, meaning that we could possibly have a reunion between DWG Ghost and FQ IgNar.

For those unaware, both Ghost and IgNar were part of the 2018 bbq Olivers roster in the LCK, where they ended the Spring season 8th, and Summer season 10th, and ended up getting relegated by the end.

This was the year where Ghost was widely considered to be one of, if not the worst ADC in the LCK, and IgNar was considered to be a support who wouldn't give a shit about his ADC and just try to roam and make plays. There were also various rumours of the team not getting along.

Come 2019 however, Ghost landed himself in Sandbox, where he was one of the main reasons why the newly promoted team did so well that year, and IgNar joined S04, where he was a big part of the team making 3rd place in Summer. Both players were so close to making Worlds, which left people wondering: why was bbq such a bad team in 2018?

Now we come to this year, where the two players are performing even better, and have made Worlds as a 1st pool and 3rd pool team respectively. If DWG and FQ are picked into the same group, watching the former worst bot lane in LCK go head to head as now one of the best ADCs and supports in the World is going to be super interesting.
