    According to Veteran the LEC teams could have vetoed the decision to bring on NEOM as a sponsor. They didn't.

    DISCLAIMER: As of 22:30 CEST nothing has been proven in either direction. No it is not only Veteran who has said something along those lines. Keep an open mind and be open to changing your opinion.

    BIG UPDATE: LEC ended the sponsorship. For discussion on that please see the other reddit thread. If something major happens I might update this thread again, but I doubt it.

    He tweeted about it here and talked more on it on stream. He said on there that not a single team vetoed NEOM as a sponsor. If this is true then it's not only the LEC management at fault here and it would honestly disappoint me even more.

    Afaik so far no team has said anything about the situation, so that checks out.

    Pretty strong condemnation of NEOM and seems like there will be more. Hope there is a good follow up and more information about the sponsorship deal as well as some statements from other teams.

    Title.

    I read the news about an hour ago, that the new Main Partner for the LEC Summer Split is NEOM. For a league that was seen by most as one of if not the most progressive league in the professional scene it is nothing less than a shock to me with the meaning behind partnering with NEOM. For the people that don't know about NEOM, here is the link to their wikipedia page. Here you can read up about LGBT rights in Saudi Arabia and a more general overview of their human rights situatin can be found here.

    I have been following the European League of Legends scene since the start of season 2. I was an avid CLG.EU fan, I followed the transition to the EU LCS. I enjoyed every second of it so far. Be it a long super week with sunburned players or Deficio making his first move onto Quickshot. When the LEC came around, I was astonished how amazing it was. I loved most of the Memes, the cringy stuff. I thorougly love the evolution the casting talent went through. I have loved Sjokz as an interviewer and host and saw Lauree becoming one of the best interviewers we have in the scene right now. They implemented the players well into their production and had overall the best production value of any major reagin really.

    One thing always stood out to me though. The LEC has always shown the support towards minorities. The most prominent case is the support of the LGBTQIA community, they even have their flag as their twitter profile right now.

    I feel incredibly sorry for their employees. The people, that were showing us - the viewers - how open minded and creative the LEC can be. The same employees, who probably know who was behind this decision. I can only imagine how betrayed they must feel by their bosses.

    I don't want to believe that everything so far was only a farce played by the LEC executives. I say this because I want to make clear that I absolutely do NOT mean the on-air and behind the camera talent. I mean the executives that made these decisions.

    For the very first time I feel like not watching the LEC. Thank you for that, I guess.

    Why are there no pants for sale in League of Legends?

    You can't buy pants in this game. You can't. There are none for sale. I mean what's the deal with that?

    You can buy all kinds of armor - head armor, shoulder armor, chest armor, gloves, boots and even belts (!??) but you can't buy yourself some pants.

    You can even get rings, amulets and even cloaks. You can get it all but you can't have pants.

    What's going on here is my question.

    I think this will be a great series. It's not a coincidence that these two teams have faced off against each other in all of the Tier 1 leagues grand finals. A lot of us expected 100X to take a step back once they called Tenacity and Kenvi up to academy, and they've certainly had some ups and downs but they're looking dominant lately playing heavily around their new jungler NXI.

    I have to say I'm also super excited to see a North American league put so much investment and effort into their league, not just because of the broadcast or prize pool, but that they partnered with the Esports Stadium down in Dallas, and are constantly producing content to hype up and promote the players in their league, including partnering with content creators like Gbay. I think this is the stuff we need to see from NA Tournament Organizers if we ever want to catch up to our European counterparts with the amazing EU Masters pipeline. Their hype video they posted this morning made me more excited to watch an amateur series than I have been for even pro games this year!

    me and 3 friends at 3 different locations across the USA are having trouble signing into NA. getting errors about selecting region and VPN services. We just got off of PBE if that changes anything but we made sure it was the Live patch

    minute edit: seems login is broken rn. other people in my discord are in game so that seems to be alive still. hopefully chat doesn't go down and login comes up soon.

    Notes:

    • Aphelios: How many patches in a row has this man been changed? This one looks like it might be the proverbial nail in the coffin. WR sub 46% and PR down by half in one patch. Oof.

    • Caitlyn: If you thought that Aphelios loss was big, this Caitlyn win is even bigger. Up nearly 2.5% WR and PR nearly doubling to 25%.

    • Irelia: Better scaling into late-game for Irelia. Platinum players everywhere weep.

    • Lee Sin: Two seconds on his W CD hit him harder than I would have anticipated.

    • Shen: With a buff to his laning, Shen is slowly becoming a powerhouse in the top lane.

    TL;DR: While these champions weren't changed directly, their WR/PR was influenced either by meta changes, or by item/rune changes. In 10.15, it's likely more of the former, as item & rune changes were sparse.
