| Reddit really should stop blaming design choices on the Chinese player base Posted: 10 Jan 2021 03:36 PM PST As convenient as it is, I think these kind of comments are just scapegoating another player base that they've generalised and do not/can not respond. This is not unlike Western K-pop fans blaming their Korean counterparts for toxicity in idol culture. Apparently, because they can't understand Chinese opinions further, it's okay to pin the blame on them, because they've created a hypothetical scenario where they stand on the moral high ground. What's worse is that they don't acknowledge that other regions (yes, even yours) could have similar preferences. For example, Lunar New Year skins continue to be rolled out but Christmas skins haven't but it's not like Riot haven't put out the statistics to back up I realise that Riot did very little, if anything, this year for Christmas specifically. They didn't even announce the skins were on sale. But it becomes a gimmick if people just want a Christmas skins for the sake of having them around. If you do enjoy Christmas skins, I suggest supporting the many artists out there who have the most creative designs. Is this borderline racist? Probably not, none of the comments really have harmful intentions. But it does read like bullying. Something hasn't gone your way, you don't want the responsibility, there is someone you can dump the blame on, they can't fight back - it's just the easiest solution. Please stop. Edit: tldr; Some of these comments have shaped my thoughts better. Don't be mad at China for having preferences that do not reflect your own. Complain to Riot, not about China. Edit 2: Side question: Why is it that China is always on the "bad guys" side (edit 3: in terms of League)? | Viego's design is appropriate for his character, but we need more body type variety in League Posted: 10 Jan 2021 08:28 AM PST In the case of Viego specifically I have no complaints really, he appropriately looks different from Morde, and his appearance fits his story very well, and is an interesting direction for the ruined king. That said, for female characters, and now male characters too, it feels like riot is losing the variety in character designs that were especially evident in like seasons 4 through 6. We used to regularly get characters like rek'sai, taliyah, azir, gnar etc back to back. Now it's like, you get 5 hot champs and 1 monster champ who is maybe also kinda hot, per year. I don't think any particular design is wrong. Some have been some great firsts for diversity in league in other ways, like Senna being our first black woman in the game. But esp when it comes to body type diversity, we're hurting lately. And frankly it just feels like league is catering too heavily towards chinese fan tastes at the expense of the rest of us. It's not just about more monster characters either. We need more types of humans too. Overwatch does this quite well, with characters like Brigitte or Tjorn...bjorene... and their characters are memorable as a result. It also helps the hotties stand out from the crowd too so I really consider it a win win for everyone in the long run. Listen, I like the occasional twink and all, but let's also sometimes have characters that look less like thirst traps and more like they come from a diverse world of all kinds of people. Even more characters that look like darius or swain would be welcome, as well as more like taliyah camille illaoi etc on the girl side. After placements this season, I got put into Iron 1 ( acceptable in my opinion, I understand they want you to climb) what isn't acceptable, is that I am getting the most random LP gains and loses. I have received +15 and at times - 18 for a loss. My most recent win gave me +3 LP. What the hell is going on here? My winrate isn't terrible, although it took a hit last season as I was learning how to play. This just seems broken. Facts: Number 1) young, shirtless and a rebel, basically a rocker in the 80' (reminds me of Jim Morrison) Number 2) the new pentakill album was teased some time ago Number 3) Blade of the Ruined King is a Pentakill song, and it's beautiful. And it fits Viego very well! What do you think? Edit: moving down the rant about my opinions about Viego's design because it's not the main topic. Basically I don't like that he's young and shirtless. I know the lore covers this factor by saying he was the youngest heir and a rebel, but still something feels off. | Guys, Baron is really easy to take Posted: 10 Jan 2021 06:06 AM PST My biggest pet peeve jungling in plat elo is the reluctance of my team to do baron. 9 times out of 10 when u get a pick past 20-25 min u can instantly rotate to baron. Or even when someone shows bot start the baron as 5. it's also a good way to force fights where you outnumber the enemy team by quickly turning on those who walk towards the pit alone. Yea sometimes it might be a risky call but most of the time just secure the damn worm and win! Posted: 09 Jan 2021 11:04 PM PST we're reaching critical mass with Camille, the champion has not just one of the best top laner even in lower elo for over a year now. but she has been the #1 top laner in high elo for even longer than that and they refuse to nerf her, the champion is absurd and will kill squishies while they are stunned with her E. her Q does as much damage as a really fed chogath rank 3 R after she gets a couple items . the question is when are we going to see the nerfs. its getting absurd. watching her in pro play is incredibly toxic too, she gets ganked about 30 times in a game and she usually has the fewest deaths by the end of the game because of how long her E dash is. I really don't think it needs the stun, and her shield combined with the fact that shes a dps carry bruiser is just obnoxious, shes way too tanky giving her invulnerability should have been enough. usually a feature given to assassins and not bruisers. but she somehow gets a shield too theres a reason she has literally no counter picks in pro play and high elo. nothing counters her and she can shit on everything. you can't deny her farm and her trade pattern of slowing you with W then autoing and running away like a bitch is not fun this is not even mentioning her Q. I was watching LPL yesterday 369 on Jax traded with her like 3 times and came out ahead. used his E. all his refillables. and she was at like half health and he was at like 80% health, she Wd and Qd him and her health went upto 70% and he fell to half. in like a second this was at like level 5 there is not really a way to outplay her. if you dodge her E she will R your combo that your preparing as a counter. mind boggling design to give her so many levers [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
