Okay, how will the jungle nerfs ACTUALLY impact jungle?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:11 AM PST

Honestly, I'm too dumb to know what it's going to change other than making slow clearers even worse because Gromp is probably a better champion than some ADCs at this point.

So whats happening? Are the powerfarmers getting nerfed? Buffed? Are we going back to that god awful Xin/Camille level 2 meta? Will jg diff just become more extreme at this point?

I'm trying to figure out my champion pool right now and I'm basically back to square one now. I was about to go back to Kayn/Graves but idk if they're nerfed by this when they already feel kinda... eh.

Senna's stealth only works if you stay inside the mist

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 12:24 PM PST

With Senna's rising popularity recently, a post about her kit might be helpful for anyone new.

If you're looking to cheese gank with Senna, please stay inside the mist (E) if you don't want people to know there's 4 people inside.

Allied champions who enter the mist gain Wraith Form for a duration equal to the remaining duration.

While inside the mist, you gain camouflage, similar to Twitch Q or Eve Passive. Enemy will only see Senna's disguise under her mist, and not allies under the mist.

While moving outside of the mist as Wraith Form, note that your character will get spotted by the enemy instantly, by looking at the minimap or just looking at the Wraith Form that barely shows your champion.

So if you don't want to mess up your surprise 4 man gank, stay inside the mist until you're near the enemy.

However you're still untargetable by auto attacks or point and click skills, similar to Akali's shroud under a pink ward.

Extra tip here is, when you're laning with Senna, please don't auto attack or cast any spell under Senna's mist when escaping from the enemy adc unless the enemy has true sight, as it can reveal you and cost you a Vayne's 3rd shot that might kill you. Also please get a pink ward to prevent this happening to you when playing against senna.

I hope this comes useful for you, thanks for reading : )

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 11:51 AM PST

How on earth do you win lane vs irelia

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:38 AM PST

I just dont get it, i can play the lane even by playing very safe and letting her push, but winning the lane is just impossible without heavy counterpick or jg assistance. Her passive at full stacks, mobility and insane damage makes her gigastrong.

If the lane is in even position at the middle of lane i still can not walk up or she q's the minion wave, gets her stacks and beats me. I feel like if she hits her E or ult youre just dead.

Even if i manage to kill her early and get gold lead, she can still beat me with her stacks and insanse mobility.

And if you fall behind its just gg, she can turret dive you easily. Feels wierd to say it, but i think irelia is the most frustrating toplaner to play against.

So now i am asking, how do you win lane vs irelia?

    Manamune on Fiora

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 01:29 PM PST

I've been taking Manamune as second item on Fiora. It feels good and I think it's been working well. I'm trying to understand why other items like Death's Dance and Steraks might be better as is the meta. They both had a recent nerf and so I've been preferring Manamune after Hydra. Can anyone explain to me why this may not be optimal or if my thinking is wrong?

How to deal with ranged top laners?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 03:02 PM PST

I'm pretty new to the game and ranked still and very close to getting promoted into bronze (pog!) as a top laner. I usually play sett, voli, and renekton with a bit of ornn sprinkled in but am starting to really struggle against ranged champs, like quinn teemo and god forbid a vayne. Basically- how do you play against ranged champs as a bruiser? Are there better runes, items to close the gap or something (stridebreaker has helped a bit) or do I just need to sit under tower the whole time? Should I expand into some other top laners?

    Is whatismymmr.com at all accurate?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 10:22 AM PST

For context, I just started playing league, after about 5-6 years of only playing DOTA 2. (I'm the high Platinum equivalent in DOTA) I'm enjoying this game so much! Anyway, I have a question about MMR/Rank.

Since i'm not level 30 yet and only have about 100 games under my belt, I was curious to see what my unranked mmr estimate was at. I was surprised to see that it puts me at 1620, +/- 100, meaning I'm around mid gold. I further verified this by checking the ranks of my opponents in Blitz, and often they are within High Silver- Mid Gold.

Just wondering if thats at all accurate. Thanks for reading.

How much cs should i have each minute?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 06:50 AM PST

I know that minions come to lane around 1:30(if i remember correctly). The question i have here is how much cs should i have by 3:00 or by 7:00 as an example. Im in low elo and as a top/mid/adc main i know i am capable of micro and highly difficult champions(e.g Aphelios), i know the one thing that is stopping me from climping is my cs. I want to know how many cs should i have each minute(total and how much should i get per minute) so i can set goals to improve my farm. Any answer is appreciated!

I want to do 1 v 1s to help practice matchups. What's the best way to go about it?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 12:46 PM PST

I'm a plat 2 kled one trick and there seems to be some matchups where I almost always lose lane. To deal with this, I'm planning on going to the subreddits of champs I struggle against and asking for 1 v 1s.

What would the 1 v 1 format be to help learn the most about a matchup? How many kills, cs, or towers should be obtained to end the current 1 v 1 and move onto the next?

I was thinking that leaning towards a longer 1 v 1 would have you practice playing from behind and how to play around ultimates, but do you think it's a more efficient use of my time to do rapid fire 1st to a kill duels?

What lets a champion have a certain role?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 02:56 PM PST

I have always been wondering this, why do certain champs belong in certain roles. For example, what prevents someone like Garen coming to mid, or someone like Camille going to the Jungle. Camille in Jungle has AOE, she also has sustain, and there are walls all around the jungle, so what would prevent Camille from jungling, I understand why she can't come mid, there are less walls, but why not Jungle. Thanks in advance!

Ok i’m starting to get kinda depressed now pls help.

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 07:48 AM PST

I'm a brand new player and I feel stuck.

I think I know the basics but whenever I get into a game I have no clue wtf is going on and I just die like crazy.

Just now I was trying to play Top and instead got auto filled into Support as Nautilus and I don't know a thing about Support but I know that I should let my ADC get the CS and I protect them.. I think?

Anyways, we ended up winning.. even though I thought we were getting destroyed but its only because I had 2 good ass team mates who had a lot of game sense and one of them was giving great calls.

Problem is.. yeah we won, but I died like crazy.. everybody else also died quite a bit but the difference is they actually racked up kills and knew what was going on and would survive the team fights most times.

TO SUM IT ALL UP, I feel like i'm not improving and even though I will go hours watching guides and reading posts on reddit, i'll go into a game motivated thinking i'll do better and get stomped anyways.

What are some tips you guys can give me?

What did you guys do to get good at the game when you first started playing?

Also how long did it take for you to start enjoying the game and not being a nuisance to your team? (Not that I DONT enjoy the game.. i'm addicted, but its not fun getting murked every game)

Friends bully me for being bad, want to improve

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:44 PM PST

Basically the title. I have a group of friends that I think are pretty good (they range from gold to low plat). They like to play custom games and they've recruited me as a tenth player to fill the lobby. I started on ADC and played a lot of Samira and Caitlyn. Recently I've gotten bullied out of the role and haven't really been invited to play with them because most teams I'm on will lose. I really just want to be able to compete with them and think that I want to transition to a mid player. I'm interested in Zoe, Viktor, Yasuo, Sylas, and Lux. Is it worth it to hire a coach, or even find someone on reddit to give some tips? I just wanna be able to have fun and play with my friends again without feeling bad about myself

What are your favorite URF builds in 2021?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 01:27 PM PST

Now that the item rework has come and went, what are everybody's new (and revised) URF builds? One I've been really liking so far is full fast skarner, you go:

    - Shurelya's, Dead Man's, Mercurial Scimitar, Swifties, Cosmic Drive and Youmuu's and just go around kidnapping people at 2000 movement speed, make sure to take ghost too!

How do I play against Lux?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:19 AM PST

Every time that I play support, the enemy lux just runs circles around us. She hides in the bush and I can't get my ADC to help focus her, so she just keeps poking and dealing a ton of damage. It's making me want to quit support. What can I do to play against her better?

What do YOU think about tier lists?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 06:31 AM PST

Hi, I don't post often to subreddits, but recently a topic came up in my mind.

What do people think about tier lists? Do you only play S or A tier champs from then on? Do you stop playing your main if someone put it in D tier for example?
Do you look for soloQ tier lists, or competitive tier lists, do you agree with them most of the time?

Over the last couple years I've seen people take them more and more seriously, even dodging games when their teammates are picking D or C tier champions. I am curious about other people's opinions, so looking forward to anyone feeling like sharing thoughts :D

Good mentals and keeping team morale up goes a long way

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 03:54 PM PST

I'm in bronze 1 rn, but i think my advice is still good for everyone. I've noticed my friends will complain about inting teammates and people being salty in their games. I don't really get that in my ranked games. And i think it's because i always try to keep the team positive. They do something well? I say something like "NICE (insert champ name" or "WP", something bad happens like enemy jhin getting quadra kill? I'll say something like "we still win these, kassadin could you focus on diving jhin specifically" or some other advice. In champ select I'll often ask my team questions and just try to give everyone a good mindset going in. My team always responds positively and i notice in those games there will be a lot of useful pings and call-outs, people complementing eachothers plays etc. You gotta keep your mental strong and boost your team's mental.

How can I improve my combat stat?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 03:08 PM PST

I've taken my time lately to check out stats to see what I can improve upon, and my over all combat score is only at B+ rn. I haven't played enough this season to be ranked yet, so things are definitely prone to change, but as of now the only thing I am consistently doing very well in is utility.

I'm a support main, and I main Janna so I only compare with other Janna supports and I've checked every ELO as well. My utility is on par with Master to Challenger as of now, while my other combat scores are only around Silver to Gold ELO. I know for sure that I need to roam more and whenever I can set up kills for my adc so they can get a lead, but what else should I keep in mind? (both income and map control are at A rn)
I'd love to improve this season and actually rech my goal of Gold, since I always kind of give up after a while due to not really knowing what to focus on.

Any help n tips are greatly appreciated!

How are we building Support Senna in 11.3?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 12:47 PM PST

So, Senna is a really potent ADC right now. I'm a support main so I'd like to learn her in that role and maybe flex her into ADC as my secondary.

Runes and skill order seem the same as ADC Senna. I'm just stuck on itemization.

I see a lot of Eclipse builds on analytics sites. But I've also seen Moonstaff recommended, and even a hybrid build with Moonstone --> Rageblade --> RFC.

    Any thoughts?

How do I deal with Nunu’s snowball?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 07:24 PM PST

I'm sick of getting my ass blown out by every single Nunu that I play against.

No matter where I'm at on the map, I see this giant fucking snowball rolling & rolling, heading directly for my asshole, & Nunu doesn't provide lube.

Not only does that shit do 75% of my health, it also knocks me up, so if I didn't die from the initial anal fisting, then I get smoked immediately after.

    Help.

Reminder: Damage Dealt Graph after game is a completely worthless statistic

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 02:47 PM PST

As the saying goes, never trust a statistic you didn't fix yourself, and this could not be more relevant than with damage dealt graph.

This garbage graph tells you absolutely nothing worth knowing and I'm going to break down why.

    1. It's literally a graph plotting damage against 10 players that play completely different roles on the map. Obviously this graph design is entirely pointless as expected damage dealth is a function of role
    2. Even if you ignore the horrendous design of the graph and compare damage dealth between roles, you havn't gained anything. Expected damage dealt also heavily depends on the type of champion you are playing (poke, sustain, all-in). They are not comparable and even if they were, the comparison would be completely pointless as they all have different win conditions
    3. Even within role, damage dealth will differ wildly based on match-up
    4. Even if you wanted to be a smartass about it and compare damage dealt for specific champions (lets say, one Riven to the next), it can still be argued that a natural variation is totally to be expected due to difference in playstyle and risk-taking among players. There are usually more than one viable ways to play a champ in terms of playstyle and risk-taking, and the expected damage will be different. If you average 5 deaths per match, your damage graph should look wildly different than if it was 3

And we havn't even begun to consider that not all damage is comparable. Classic example: Damage applied in an all-in is a lot more impactful than poke that can be sustained.

There are post-game statistics that are worth analysing but this is not one of them. Frankly, the amount of players that ascribe value to this waste of screen estate is appalling and you are well advised to divert your attention elsewhere.

opponent stays in mid lane all game / what do I do?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 04:34 AM PST

Low elo midlaner here. There is a pattern I noticed in recent games. I usually don't play heavy roamers like Kata or Fizz (maybe I should?) but I still often move to help my jungler or gank with my ultimate, for example when I played Neeko I saved my jungler twice and went bot to R. The problem is, in this kind of game the enemy team is stronger and my lane opponent never moves their ass from midlane. Which means I lose not only farm but also plates if I'm away too often and if I fail and die good bye turret. Another problem is that it feels like moving to help my team is often pointless. That jungler I saved ended up trying to 1 vs 1 their fed jungler and dying anyway right before an objective came up. I'm not the kind of laner who pings for ganks or help because I jungled in season 10, I know how it goes, but they were essentially useless. So I wasted time on them as a result of my decision. Could I deduce it early? Like, if my jungler is invading when they likely shouldn't, let's not help them next time they are in danger?

Now if I were a better player or played a more roamer-type champ I could have gotten more out of my roams, right? If I were a skillful Zed who returned with a double kill every time, it would be fine. But in my case I sometimes got a kill or an assist but it never felt like much. I'd save a teammate and later they will die anyway. I'd roam top, get the toplaner's flash, get a plate together with my toplaner, then I leave and my toplaner tries to turret dive and ints.

That's actually one of the reasons I stopped jungling. I'd help a lane and then they somehow get behind anyway. I always felt like I was making the wrong choices. Of course it's easy to help a winning lane but what if there is no winning lane. So what do I do as a midlaner now? Stay and become the winning lane, let the jungler do their job however badly they do it? If our jungler is strong, I accompany them a lot and if no one throws later it's a win.

On the other hand, when I try to focus on myself I'm rarely good enough to snowball out of control. I had a few games like that when I completely dominated lane and later was so fed people backed off seeing me in 2 vs 1 situations. But it's rare. I can't rely on myself making it happen every game. A much more typical situation is when I'm a kill or two and a few dozen cs ahead while there is 7-0 Irelia on enemy team.

On yet another hand, I've met a returning high elo player who was making their way up from super low elo and they told me exactly this: until high gold play something that's not easily gankable and never leave mid lane. It goes against the typical advice but it seemed to work for them with Diana of all champs.

TL;DR There is a kind of game where I play mid with a champ that isn't meant to roam a lot, but I move often to help my team when they are behind - while my opponent stays in lane all game and it feels like I'm weakening myself instead while not really making my team strong enough. Is that the wrong play, generally? Should I either play a true roamer and roam - or play something else and stay firmly in lane until I reach at least gold?

How much damage should I be doing with taric jungle?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:20 AM PST

Hello everyone, I started playing Taric jg around june of last year, but i stopped playing league entirely around august until now. I picked him back up and I'm still having the same issue. I feel like my damage is severely lacking. My usual build has been PTA with Kraken slayer > Deadmans >force of nature > manamune > ravenous Hydra. I feel like I have a lot of kill participation and provide a lot of utility, but I feel like I should have way more damage just based on how quickly I can kill people. Looking at the graphs, all my other stats are quite good, but my damage is always abysmal. I basically always have the least damage in the game or close to it no matter how good I do. Is this normal? How much should I be doing compared to the rest of my team?

My summoner name is Flow425 on NA if you'd like to check out the games I'm mentioning. There are only 2 in my recent games, but they're the main ones I'm talking about

Any advice for Yuumi high gold/low plat

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:11 AM PST

Specifically looking for advice dealing with Leona or Thresh. For reference I'm much lower elo on any other champ so I don't feel like I have a good understanding of the game at all. I realise Yuumi isn't the best champ to climb, I'm just hoping to not feel useless and avoid getting flamed when playing.
