In essence he said that he may get flamed for this (spoiler: he did) but doesnt believe that G2 are the best team in the world, or that LEC is the best region. Some brief stats for the 2019 season: The Unofficial Title did not come into contention during Worlds 2018 as LGD was the title holder at the start of the event, and they did not qualify for Worlds (LPL representatives were EDG, IG, and RNG). The title had been in the LPL since MSI 2018 and would remain in the LPL for almost exactly 1 year (5/13/2018 to 5/14/2019). During MSI 2019, SKT beat IG to briefly claim the title from the LPL on May 14. G2 then beat SKT to take the title to the LEC on May 18. During Rift Rivals, the LCS held the title for 1 day after TSM beat FNC on June 28. The following day, Origen defeated TSM to reclaim the title for the LEC, where it has been until now. G2 claimed the title from FNC on August 31 during the LEC Summer Playoffs and were the title holders at the start of Worlds 2019 and 5-0 before the losses to Griffin today. Sidenote: The last time the LCK held the Unofficial Title for an extended period was from October 2017 to May 2018, when Samsung Galaxy took both the official and unofficial titles back to Korea at the end of Worlds 2017. Renekton as a champ has by far the most oppressive early game and is supposed to just fall off like a truck, but ever since the introduction of spear of shojin, his late game has felt a lot less punishable. I rem the days before spear of shojin. I would leave lane with half the CS as renekton and still beat his ass cause of how terrible he scaled, seems like those days are coming back.
