This was my 2nd game in a row with him doing the same thing and I figured that after the first game maybe he was tilted or just playing bad but the second game he was just blatantly running down lanes at champs and diving towers/ walking right into people we have vision of. I watched his stream VOD and he is actually just playing without a care in the world aimlessly roaming around the map and dying. It's extremely disappointing to see from a popular member in the community as this sets an example for everyone who watches. S10 has been awful in my personal experience with the amount of people who grief / int games and I feel like the behavior such as this only contributes to the problem. Posted: 27 Feb 2020 03:45 PM PST I think that by default, the poison/contaminate system is not very impactful, especially past the laning stage. A fully stacked contaminate on crit twitch does less damage than one crit auto, which just feels like a waste of a cool design. This is probably on purpose, because most of his power budget is consumed by his invisibility and his ult, but I think there's room for another path to exist where his ult will be weaker, and the poison is more of the focus. I'm not necessarily asking for it to be like, a good or viable build, I just think its cool when alternate playstyles like that exist, like how ap miss fortune is a thing that you like... sorta can do, even if its not actually good. It makes a different aspect of the character the focus, which I think is cool, and it's a fun optimization puzzle to try to figure out how to make it work. As it is, there's two builds you could do if you were trying to focus on the poison/contaminate: lethality or ap. Twitch does have an ap scaling on contaminate, but if you test it, there's literally no upside to building that way. its not like ap miss fortune, where at least your e is strong, even if everything else is worse. Ap twitch's contaminates actually do less damage than they would by just stacking ad, and your autos do nothing on top of that. The problem with lethality is that it just doesn't do enough to ever really pay off. There's no "my autos do way less than crit twitch, but at least after going to a lot of effort to 6 stack poison on someone lategame, contaminate really chunked someone, and that was cool." moments. Its like building lethality aphelios because your abilities do physical damage. It just has no actual payoff for doing that. I have several ideas for how twitch could be changed to make a poison specialization twitch build more doable. Most have no effect on the balance of twitch's default build, but a few might need number tweaking to keep his current power level. The goal is to establish either lethality or ap as having some clear niche that it's better at than crit twitch, even if the overall effectiveness of the build as a whole is lower. 1) Poison applies spell effects. This means ap twitch can buy liandry's/rylai's. This one is the most likely to end up overpowered, because applying like 9 seconds of liandry's burn with one auto is pretty strong. At the same time, the autos themselves would do almost nothing, and would the total damage actually be more than crit twitch? I'm not sure. The reason I'm including it is because it fits thematically with what ap twitch feels like it should be about. Champions that rely on DOTs typically build these items, and he can't. Notably, buying those two items gives zero cdr or mana, which are both important for contaminate spam twitch. 2) Venom cask deals a percentage of the target's existing poison damage once per second for as long as they remain in the area, applying spell effects, and scaling with levels in the skill (and maybe ap?). For example, the existing poison damage is applied at a 100% ratio at level 1, scaling up to 200% at level 2, dealing a maximum of 30-60 true damage per second while standing in the area depending on skill level. This is a much more limited version of #1, where ap twitch can still buy liandry's (but not rylai's) but without the potentially op interaction of applying it for a very long duration with one poison application. This could be magic or physical damage rather than true damage, encouraging either ap or lethality, but could be left as true damage also. 3) Poison damage scales with a percentage of lethality or ap (for example, 10% of lethality/1% of ap bonus damage per tick per second). Being able to make the poison itself deal meaningful damage would be one way to make building around the poison into a thing that has some payoff. 4) Poison changed from true to physical damage, with buffed numbers to compensate, so it stays around neutral for crit twitch. This is maybe a more elegant way to make poison damage scale with lethality/armor pen, and has the advantage of giving him a unique and strong interaction with black cleaver. Every tick would apply one stack, which will make it easy to fully stack before activating contaminate, and he would constantly get the 10ms buff. This gives him some utility that crit twitch doesn't have, even if his potential to oneshot whole teams with his ult is less. An alternate version is changing it to magical, which would, if I understand the interaction correctly, make it constantly apply grievous wounds from morellonomicon, making it valuable on ap twitch, and preventing people from just out-regening his poison damage so they tick down more meaningfully over time. 5) Buff the ap scaling on contaminate. Making it so that ap twitch's contaminate damage actually does more damage than ad twitch's contaminate would be an effective, if boring, way to make that playstyle doable. This could potentially be combined with changing contaminate's damage type to magical, which would make sorceror shoes buyable on ap twitch. This would probably be a buff to crit twitch as well, though, because overall magic resist numbers are lower than armor numbers, and because it gives him a source of mixed damage against high armor targets 6) Contaminate (maybe only fully stacked contaminate?) resets poison duration. This leaves the existing numbers the same, but increases the reward for casting fully stacked contaminates. With enough cdr, you can actually hover at the edge of contaminate range and keep reapplying it until they die, forcing them to either run behind their tower and wait it out or fight you to stop the damage. The downside is, this is a clear buff to crit twitch as well, when the goal is to stay overall power neutral on that build. 7) Poison slows for a percentage of ap (for example, 3% of ap, so with 1000ap, you get a 30% slow). This gives a non-damage payoff for investing in lots of ap that gives it a clear niche that it's better at than other builds, even if its still overall going to deal very low damage. An alternate version with a similar goal is making venom cask's duration scale with ap, so that ap twitch becomes an annoying zone control character with multiple casks out at once. 8) Champion kills with contaminate reset its cooldown. This gives a contaminate focused twitch a way to carry teamfights, by casting it multiple times in a row off resets, while being hard to use on crit twitch, since even a fully stacked contaminate does less damage than one of your autos. Those are my ideas. Let me know what you think or if you have other ideas that could work!
