Some advice for going to the NA LCS finals from someone who lives 5 minutes away from the Ford stadium they’re playing in.

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 11:34 AM PST

Hey y'all (I hate that word even tho I was born in Texas) as stated in the title, I live VERY close to the stadium the NA LCS finals is in, and this is just some general advice for the stadium. Keep in mind that some of these can be opinionated

    1. There are no "bad seats". Contrary to popular belief, not everything is bigger in Texas, because my high school has football games in the same stadium. You can get a good sight of the matches from probably all the seats, so if you can only get a tier 3 or 4 seat, that still is pretty good. If I had to compare the size to other places, I would say a graduation stadium.

    2. The entire place is in-door an air conditioned. This, you could probably find online while looking at the stadium, but still something useful to know.

    3. I don't think they will let outside food into the stadium. While they usually don't at a lot of events, this is still a most likely, considering the owner of the stadium does like his money.

    4. I would recommend getting there early. The stadium entrance is not very big, so I think there will be maybe 6 security check lines, which would not be fun to get stuck in.

    5. It has pretty good food there. The place that the stadium is in is basically a huge open-air mall, and has some pretty great restaurants near it, my favorite being sushi marquee. The food is pretty expensive tho.

Well, that's all that I can think of for now, if I think of anything else I guess I will comment it, I just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone wanting to go.

Edit: I will be making an expanded post of a more in-depth overview of the place, places to eat, and hotels in a later post. (When I'm back in town, prob tomorrow night)

Academy Rush and RiotDash Appreciation Thread

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 06:03 AM PST

Alright I'll start off by saying week 1 of Academy Rush was pretty rough, I think most of us can agree on that. Despite it being difficult to watch, I saw the potential. But man, the last few weeks they've improved it a lot, and I find it very enjoyable to watch.

A big part of that for me is Dash. He does a really good job transitioning in and out of games, short little summaries about the current game state that keeps the viewers entertained and in the loop. He just has such a good demeanor and personality for rush, he feels like the perfect fit. On top of that, when the production team brought all 4 games onto screen simultaneously, you could imagine that it would be overwhelming, but to me it really wasn't. I loved that segment, and again Dash did such a good job talking about each individual game, it felt so natural.

On top of that, there are a ton of extremely talented casters casting the individual games. I can't remember this specific caster's name, but last week twitch chat and Reddit were calling him the rap god and freaking out about him, hopefully that's enough info to spark some recognition :p that was some of the best shout casting I've heard, and I'd love to see that guy casting main stage LCS games. It's also really nice that, if we want to, we can go to individual game streams to watch a full game, rather than the rush format. I haven't felt the need to do this personally because I enjoy the rush format so much, but it's good that it is an option.

I've really come to love watching rush, and now I actually look forward to it every week. I'd love to hear other thoughts on this.

I am an Iron player. Why do I get matched with Silver players?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 09:34 AM PST

They're on my team and the enemy. Everyone in my matches is around level 150 and I am level 48. I just finished a game 1/12 because I was very clearly totally useless in the face of an Elise who was far better than I am. Why is it that I am matched with these players who consistently destroy me?

Why should an assassin like Qiyana have so much CC?

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 01:24 PM PST

No hate, but it is a bit surprising that the community doesn't criticize Qiyana as much as much as they criticize some other champs. How is Qiyana any better than Aphelios? (other than better clarity I guess) Why should an assassin have aoe hard CC? I really feel like her ulti is too much. Not saying she shouldn't have it but they should at least nerf it somehow.
