Whenever I see 'T1' on a title in this subreddit; I'm instantly unsure at first if it's the team or Tyler1

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 09:42 AM PST

Who else has this issue? I've been calling Tyler1 'T1' for the longest time. Plus I see T1 spammed often on twitch chat referring to Tyler1. Now SKT has to rebrand to T1. And I'm all kinds of confused.

I won a game by blatantly lying to my teammates to improve moral

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 01:31 PM PST

So I'm duo queued bot Ezreal Yummi getting absolutely smashed in every lane. Our Amumu jgl says '15' at 8 minutes for context. At 15 we're down 10k gold and the ff vote comes up, I like to try most games out as I only get a few a night and don't spam games so we vote no.

That's when I decided to just slip this in as morale was very low -

"I haven't lost a game on this account yet, I think we can keep that up"

Amumu suddenly decided that I was a smurf and completely played around me with a revitalized sense of purpose, and next thing I knew I was 10 - 5 up from 1 - 4 and we steamrolled their 7-0 cait picking her two times and won the game off it. Our teemo top was happily munching glue with an impressive 4% kp or something but gosh darnit, he didn't quit.

    Might try it again.

TF Blade has reached challenger in korean soloq with 64% winrate

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 07:21 AM PST

    Op GG: https://www.op.gg/summoner/userName=R1%20Blade

The most impressive part is the fact that he's getting high winrates playing only soloq, and not duo queue abusing like most other streamers you see nowadays.

The current rank 1 player in Korea is the toplaner Thal with 1482 LP (as of writing this post), so TF Blade needs 1088LP for that sweet rank 1 spot.

A player left during champion select and I got my promotion series failed.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 06:56 AM PST

So I don't know what to say - I queued up for the 5th game of my promotion series. A player left the champ select (not me - I was last pick and the leaver was one of the players with first pick follow up!). Is it a bug, which caused me to fail my promotion?

Due to illness, Doublelift will not be competing tomorrow. Tactical has been practicing with the team these past few days, and we are excited to see him make his LCS debut against TSM.

I wont be able to play this weekend of LCS because I got laryngitis (not corona) and I can't use my voice at all. We're gonna play with @Tactical so please support him in his debut and cheer for TL 😗

Ranked placement is one of the worst new player experiences I've ever come across

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 04:51 AM PST

I'm new to league (about 6 months of playtime, on and off) and I just hit lvl 35. I also noticed that normal games were getting very samey/predictable so I thought I'd give ranked a go. People say it's the best way to improve and I figured it'd be fun to actually track my process from iron iv to whatever.

Except, y'know, I don't get to play iron iv.

    Oh no.

I get the unique and unenviable pleasure of playing a mix of players from silver II, gold iv and/or lvl 233.

Obviously I threw the first game. It was 100% my fault b/c I was horribly outmatched in-lane and I somehow managed to feed while hiding under my tower.

And that's cool. One of the reasons I love league is the fact that it has a high skill ceiling and forces you to learn/improve. But now I have to repeat that same experience 9 more times. That means 9 more awful, soul crushing defeats. 9 more rounds of "report top", endless pings and people telling me they'd rather I kill myself than re-queue and try again.

And games of League aren't that short. I'm looking at approx 5 hours of helpless, maddening shit before I can finally face off against people of my skill level.

I think it's incredibly frustrating that placement games are a) compulsory and b) random. There must be some way that Riot can use my pre-ranked MMR to put with people at a similar level, or at least cut down on the number of placement games so that I don't have to ruin 40-odd people's day? Idk, I just think this kind of thing is really off-putting for new players and I really dunno who thought it was good game design.

And yes, I'm aware that I could just get good, etc etc, but I think it still bears saying.
