It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Oh man, oh man, oh man did we get you good this year. Thousands of people upvoted our leaked posts, multiple content creators made videos about them, I've seen articles in English, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, you name it. Somehow my made up voice lines even managed to trick the lore discord server, although they did seem quite skeptical.

At this point you should know what's about to happen this time of year, and let this serve as a lesson not to trust anonymous sources on the internet, but for now let's celebrate the launch of the amazing almighty new champion Pingu, The Guide!

Now it's time to present the people who have made this all possible. Without them we would never have managed to pull off this stunt.

First of all there's u/JapaneseBushBaby. The Man of a Million Voices did the incredible voice acting for the leaked champion voice test video, which he did while taking a break from being a catfish, tweeting pictures of his dog or streaming Half-Life: Alyx (he's live now doing champion impersonations while feeding).
And Riot, if you're reading this, I've heard that he does a pretty sick Volibear voice. Might wanna hit him up about that rework of yours.

Then there's the one and only u/bcny. You've probably seen some of his drawings of esports tournament results, but this time he helped us out with the leaked champion concept art that ended up fooling almost all of you (and it's an ice axe, nothing else). For more of where that came from the entire set is found here, and you can find him on Twitter, DeviantArt and Instagram.

No champion release would be complete without an orchestral theme, and guess what, we've got one courtesy of u/Gawkies. Last month's Battle of Lumbridge piece even made it all the way to the official RuneScape Twitter account, and if you wanna find more you can find Gawkie over at Twitter and YouTube.

It's a sleeping banana! It's a resting pineapple! No, it's u/Papaya_Dreaming! You all know exactly what that means, no further explanations needed.

All you lore nerds out there don't worry, we've got something for you too. Namely, another submission from the resident lore power level analyst u/KatarHero72. You may have seen previous entries in the series like Sett, Aphelios or Senna, but trust me, nobody comes even close to the power of Pingu.

Then there's the dark and mysterious^TM u/RiotLeaks. I really wonder who that person may be, check out the champion reveal and you might find some clues.

In the last second we also got some help from the higher ups. Lonewingy, Senior Concept Artist at Riot Games, gave us the masterpiece that is that Pingu in the header, and you can find more of her stuff on ArtStation and Instagram

Last but not least, all of this wouldn't have been possible without the boards user Europe West (I think that was his name at least). May the boards rest in peace, but at least you can relive the post that started this here.

Now for the stuff that you guys probably skipped to, it's time for the art contest! There's 24 (ish) hours to go, and the clock is ticking, so get artsing.

There's two parts to this, and the first one is the OC art contest. Draw your best interpretation of Pingu from scratch and post it in the replies to the stickied comment here, and make sure to include something that shows that it's actually Pingu and not some silly impersonator (looking at you Featherknight). Feel free to share it in a standalone post as well, we need to spread the gospel of Pingu.

For this category there will be RP prizes:

First Place: 1800 RP
Second Place: 1350 RP
Third Place 975 RP

The second part is for those of you who are more like me and couldn't make a nice drawing ven if your life depended on it. You people like you and me there's the coloring contest, so dig out those crayons (physical or digital) and show me what you can do with this template. To enter the contest drop a link as a reply to the stickied comment.

Once the time has run out we will vote to determine the winners, and the top three of each category will receive prizes.

April RULES' Day

Here I am, raining on your parade. It may be April Fools' Day, but we will still have some rules in place, and to make everything clear here are the relevant rules that have changed.

First of all, all behavioral rules still apply. Be nice to each other, it's what Pingu would have wanted.

Allowed

Here is a list of content that we are allowing today and only today:

We are removing the short duration content limits, so feel free to directly link images and videos.
Memes will be allowed, but if things go overboard we may start clamping down on this.
Being a cool frood is encouraged.
Addressing Riot is allowed.

Not allowed

This year we will actually follow Reddit-wide rules and disallow vote manipulation. This means that titles such as "Upvote for X" or "If I get Y upvotes I will do Z" are not allowed.
Featherknight propaganda.

All other rules will remain as they are, but we retain the right to change them during the day to make sure the experience for all of us is the best possible. So go out and have fun, and share some love with the amazing content creators who have helped us make this possible.
