The new television series arcane is coming out soon and riot's feedback has shown that many fans of the lore want to see him in the show considering it takes place in his home. People would be confused to not see him and riot would never use his current model for that, which is one reason they put Mundo ahead of them. Also it is much easier to rework Mundo. They are keeping his identity as a unkillable late game juggernaut that throws cleavers, while fixing his problematic stat check issues and visuals. This task is much easier than reworking Udyr and Shyvana. For example, riot doesn't have a proper game design for Udyr and it would be very costly with all of his skins taking 5x as much work, not to mention he has an ultimate skin that's supposed to be his base, so they would even need to spend a huge amount of more money and possibly alienating their current Udyr fans. As for Shyvana, she is still popular in many Asian country's and even in NA. Reworking popular champions often angers a huge number of their fans and its safer to rework unpopular ones such as Mundo. | PSA: Use grid view while doing your runes Posted: 08 Jun 2020 05:50 AM PDT After seeing yet another post about how illogical and unintuitive editing your secondary runes is and furthermore seeing that the person posting was not using the grid view, i wanted to raise attention to this apparently widely unknown feature. In the bottom left of the rune editing window (see the pictures) you can switch from the default view to "grid view", which displays all the options for your runes and makes it easier and quicker to change your runes. I believe that the rune system was designed with this view in mind, since it explains the interactions when doing your secondaries, where the underlying FIFO-implementation clashes with the contraint that you can't have two runes in the same row. Why Riot has decided to make the other view the default one is beyond me. I even see many streamers and pro-players use the highly unpractical default view. Anyway, the advantages of using the grid view are blatantly obvious. - It requires about half the clicks to set all your runes, giving you more time to think about your choices and possibly preventing you from getting in a game without your runes being set (we all had that one) - Setting your secondaries requires at most two clicks. The previously mentioned interaction can still occur, but you will be able to spot and fix it easily. The only disadvatage is that it will sometimes reset to the default view, forcing you to change it back again.
