A reminder of our rule on "Posts of Private Individuals breaking League of Legends Terms of Service"

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 08:47 AM PDT

    Hi Everyone!

Recently, we've noticed a huge push for people to be better teammates in game -- which is admirable and great!

However, we've also noticed that there's been a big uptick in people making posts on the subreddit that call out their teammates. These posts are not allowed on /r/leagueoflegends because they violate this rule:

Posts of private individuals breaking League of Legends' Terms of Service are not allowed.

While we do allow call-out posts about public figures, like streamers, we do not allow people to call out random private individuals. The primary reasons for this are:

    1. A random toxic player in your bronze game has not chosen to put their life and their gameplay on public display for everyone to see.

    2. They do not have the same platform available to give a response. If a big name streamer flames in game, they have a twitter following and streaming platform available to them where they can address the allegations.

    3. Evidence about private individuals is generally, though not always, much shoddier than the evidence available with regards to public figures -- usually because there's not an entire vod available for people to watch.

If you have a shitty teammate in your game, report them in the post-game screen and send a ticket to Riot Support. Reddit is not a good or effective place to report your teammates.

We appreciate you understanding and hope you can all strive to be good to one another!

The lack of quality in gemstone crafted skins is frustrating

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 02:37 PM PDT

When hextech annie and gemstones came out, it was all the rage. These seemed to finally be the Ultimate skins, considering the incredible difficulty it took to obtain one. However, they are just kind of - meh.

The recalls are hardly better, if even, than the base skin, there are usually none, if any custom animations, the effects are mediocre, it's all just sort of 'alright'. Why would I use Hextech Annie when there is Super Galaxy Annie? Why would I use Dreadnova Darius when it doesn't even have a cape, or there is Dunk Master and God King? Why would I try and get Hextech Renekton when black frost is so much better?

They all just feel lack luster for the amount of time or money it takes just to get one. I wish they were a tier above the rest instead of just sort of average skins that are notorious in name only.

Clash is great, but I'm not going to spend money on the premium ticket unless smurfing gets fixed

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 07:13 AM PDT

Getting into scouting phase and seeing a level 34 bronze 3 in tier 3 is depressing. It's bad enough that smurfs ruin a once a month tournament you've practiced for (or biweekly on every other month I guess?). Smurfing is annoying, I'm sure some white knights are just gonna say "just play better", and be that as it may, Riot's gotta be kidding me if they think I'm betting money on their anti smurf capabilities.

Uzi changes his KR account name to ggggggmeile. Meile = No More - hinting at his rumoured retirement

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 06:26 AM PDT

With recent confirmation that Uzi has been taken off the global contract database after becoming a free agent, and with RNG announcing their summer lineup which noticeably excluded the star ADC, rumours have been circulating on League platforms speculating whether Uzi would retire or not. He has just changed his name on his KR SoloQ account to ggggggmeile - with meile meaning 'no more' in Chinese. Do people think this is genuine or do people think Uzi is just meme'ing us here? In my opinion it would be extremely heartbreaking to see one of the greatest players of all time who's always made it clear what his dream was to never actually win Worlds.

Probably the biggest problem with new Volibear is he's a fighter who doesn't fight well.

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 09:30 AM PDT

I sometimes wake up in a cold sweat, remembering the heinous experiences we all had to go through vs old Volibear top ( just a week ago lol).

Basically it went like this - Don't fight him early! With most bruisers or juggs you had to wait till around level 9/10 and a completed item before having a feasible chance to kill him. If he managed to accrue a lead by then you'd have to wait a little longer. Even after you've feasibly outscaled, fighting Volibear 1v1 or even 2v1 was not a task to be approached lightly.

Volibears rework has introduced new dimensions to the character, as well as a lot of counterplay. The problem is his numbers are too low to justify the high amount of counterplay he has. It has become a common sight to see your toplaner casually turn upon the ganking Volibear and kill him effortlessly. Too common to see your farmed toplane Voli casually get soloed by the jungler in a 1v1 within a larger teamfight. Personally I don't even bother to dodge his lightning anymore, or be wary about his shield or heal.

There's a lot of love for new Volibear right now. Much more than reworked Wukong who was and is still blatantly overtuned but too boring to play.

Volibear is great fun. So let's tweak things a little bit so the only people who are having fun aren't his ravenous opponents.

Dignitas add JayJ, former FlyQuest Support to the roster

Similarly to the V1per announcement, there is no specification of if this academy or LCS. This leads more credence to the possibility that DIG will be running a 10 man roster. Good luck to JayJ! Happy for him. He did pretty good in Spring 2019.

6/1 PBE Update: High Noon Irelia Splash Art

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 12:28 PM PDT

Back in season 8, the pros complained that the balance changes were too frequent and too big. What we have now is the opposite, and just as bad for the game (long post).

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 08:24 AM PDT

I need to get this off my chest, because I care about League of Legends and I want what is best for Riot Games and their game.

I want to talk about the way balance changes are done currently, how we got here, and why I think there is a problem. I'll be honest - I feel like the game has been very much unexciting this year, and that the meta both in pro play, as well as soloQ is stale, and it has been throughout season 10.

In this video from 2018, Doublelift talked about a variety of things regarding the style of balance changes we had two seasons ago. He specifically said that the patches came out too often, and that they changed too much. I agree with this - pro players especially weren't given enough time to get used to the changes, and prepare for tournaments in an appropriate manner. Also, Doublelift had a fair point about players maining a specific champion, like Aatrox and Janna, and how their entire progress in mastering said champion could essentially be reset. Not necessarily because said champion was reworked - his or her AD or AP ratios could have been essentially gutted. I've been a Kalista main since season 5, so I understand the impact that big balance changes can have on your overall satisfaction with the game in general.

Because of the above, Riot - slowly but surely - relaxed in their approach to balance. I want to say I'm glad that Riot Games listens to its community. I really do. But even good intentions can have bad consequences. Let me clarify. In the video I mentioned earlier, Doublelift talked about "the other side of the spectrum". The side, where Riot becomes a developer that simply doesn't do enough with the balance changes. This is where we are at now, and the reason I am writing this post.

Whenever patch notes come out, I immediately go on Youtube to watch pro's or streamer's comments on them. Usually it's LS that I watch. If you go to his latest video, the one commenting on patch 10.11, you will tell by the title alone that... Nothing has really changed. That nothing has really changed isn't a one off occurrence, this has been a worrying trend almost throughout season 10. Honestly, I can't remember anything big other than Aphelios nerfs and the changes to Senna that happened this year. And it worries me, because if this continues, the game will eventually deteriorate to the state of needing life support, when really it SHOULD be flourishing, like it used to back in its prime. I understand that Riot would rather progress, instead of falling back to previous states of the game- no game developer wants to admit that they messed up. And I am not asking Riot to go back to what we had in season 8. I want something else.

I want to see what the pros and the community have been asking for - Bigger Patches, More Spaced Out Currently, the patches are more spaced out than they used to in the past, which is good on Riot's Part. Now we need these patches to actually provide changes. Not the minor balance changes that we see now, because the meta has become stale, and the game very much uninteresting because of it in my opinion. Instead, the balance changes should shake the meta. I am sure I'm not the only one who would love to once again get excited when reading patch notes, and look forward to seeing new champion pools in each lane, as well as the jungle.

I am completely aware that we're in the middle of a global pandemic, and Riot has enough problems of its own right now. Even so, as a loyal fan I can no longer bear to see my favourite game in what I think is a sad and dull state.

I sincerely hope that Riot will take into consideration what can be done to improve the game experience for its playerbase. Not saying they're not, but I truly believe they can do better. I wish all the best for the company and all of its staff members.

    u/Woundshotgg signing out. Peace.
