We've heard the community's feedback, and we agree -- these comments were ill-conceived and objectionable. These are tense times, and urgent issues are being discussed publicly and privately. Cloud9 believes serious, civil discourse on these issues is important. We also believe that threats to publicly label anyone as prejudiced cannot be made lightly -- the resulting personal and professional outcomes can be life-changing. We have a clear policy regarding social media content that applies to any Cloud9 staff member choosing to highlight that affiliation (through the use of a Cloud9 header or similar asset) and will address any violation of that policy internally. Additionally, Mae and Jack have reached out personally to the player involved to apologize. Finally, we ask those who were offended by these comments to refrain from personal attacks and threats. | Quick Reminder to Tanks/Supports and High DPS Carries about a Little Known Baron Passive Posted: 05 Jul 2020 02:27 PM PDT Baron's Gaze: Baron Nashor takes 50% REDUCED DAMAGE from the unit that he has most recently basic attacked for 8 seconds So if there is a Baron call, Tanks/Supports, while it may be important to ward/sweep around the pit, you better consider if your team should melt the Baron asap by being the 1st to attack Baron. To High DPS carries, don't be the 1st to attack Baron if you can wait 3-5 seconds for a teammate to aggro Baron so the passive doesn't apply to you. I have seen players mismanaging Barons not only in solo que games, but in high stakes Worlds and MSI games as well, which resulted in Baron throws. But I can't imagine that it feels great as a competitor to read that eg. randomness is a desired characteristic of the format. Sounds like they view professional LoL games more like wrestling, where showmanship is more highly regarded than quality of competition, but they don't dare to promote it as such. | Can someone explain this bizarre behaviour? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:58 AM PDT So I've been playing this game for 4 years quite consistently and I've never seen anything like this before. It's been bugging me a lot so any insight would be cool. Ranked Game, I'm playing Jhin ADC. I have a Blitzcrank Support. We all load in fine, and all of us except Blitz move to positions on the Map. Then... Blitz began to spam All Chat with what looked like Code, or gibberish? Just random grammar symbols. Entire walls of them one after the other for about 30 seconds. Faster than anyone could type it, like instantly 100s of symbols within a second. Still on Fountain. He then began to Ping things impossibly fast. (His Armour, his Ping, his Health, Assistance pings - all within a millisecond, quicker than a hand could move to click them all) He did this for a further two minutes, still on base. I didnt mute him because I was fascinated. He then spent 15 minutes recalling on the base over and over. Then.. he randomly came to lane and started playing normally, approximately 17 minutes into the game. My team asked him what happened and he apologised and said he didnt know? I would assume he is trolling.. but 1) how did he Ping all those things impossibly fast and 2) he put in an immense amount of effort and got no response, but continued to do it for 17 minutes.. I looked at his match history, its normal. He played a Ranked game before it and lost, normal score and level though. He also plays ARAM a lot. Nothing suspicious in his match history. Any thoughts? | Posted: 05 Jul 2020 11:28 AM PDT When a tier is so populated, why autofill? I'd rather have a 4-5 minute queue than have a 20 second queue where everyone is autofilled. This case scenario makes autofill look like, if anything, the source of ranked problems (in populated tiers). Is this working as intended? Edit: Autofilling or secondary roles aside, filling isn't something people want. They want to pick a thing and play it.
