League of Legends Patch 11.2 Discussion and Bug Megathread

Tempos was on scholarship at ISU (very strong collegiate program) who signed with C9 Amateur for the Proving Grounds circuit. After 6 BO3 matches in a single tournament, C9 has replaced him.

Tempos is now unable to rejoin ISU, will lose out on a semester of college and isn't able to compete in CLOL this year.

If you're going to sign a player who you know is giving up his scholarship to play with you, you should probably be willing to invest more than 3 weeks into working with him.

Cho'Gath has the potential for the most expansive and varied Ultimate skin of all time: "You Are What You Eat"

The concept is pretty simple: When Cho eats someone he grows a few physical characteristics that make him resemble the champion he has just snacked on. For example he eats an Ahri and gets 9 tails, eats a Blitzcrank and gets metal arms or steam vents on his back, eats an Aphelios and gets an emo fringe.

It can kinda be like Kirby in Smash Bros. The possibilities for funny "costumes" are nearly unlimited, and one of the first questions when a new Champ comes out will be "what does Cho look like when he's wearing their head?"

It can even work for large monsters - different elemental drakes provide different colpir schemes (this one could even be permanent?), rift herald gives him an eye on his back (no bonus damage, sorry) and if he eats Baron... Well motherfucker that's his goddamn FINAL FORM as a void monster. (No seriously, Cho with a Baron Buff should be a legitimate eldritch horror.)

Odds of this happening are next to nothing because it's FAR too much work for the skin team (especially as they'd have to keep updating it), but a voidboi can dream!

Battle for rank 1 EUW intensifies as current rank 1 player LIDER loses 17 games in a row

EDIT 1: Oh boy, it just keeps getting worse and worse, he just lost another one. 18 19 20 21 now...

EDIT 2: Well, this is it, Agurin just won a game which puts him above LIDER so he's now rank 1. Congrats! Impressive run, all games on stream without delay, but a bit tainted by the losing streak.

EDIT 3: Depending on how you count, he broke the streak when his team MOUZ won against AHG in the Prime League. In soloQ however, he's still going strong.

EDIT 4: It's over, he did it. After losing 21 games in a row, he finally won 2 games playing Yone jungle. He gained 11 and 8 LP. After that he lost 2 more games playing mid...

This is really funny and really sad at the same time. We've all been there, but this poor guy has to play official matches tonight...

Here is LIDER's op.gg, and here is Agurin's op.gg, he's the current rank 2 player. The two are about 250 LP above the rest.

Even though Talongodx was the first player to hit Challenger, LIDER quickly overtook him and got to 1000 LP with an insane MMR getting +33/-7 LP. When he reached 1000 LP, he was almost 500 points above the next player.

However, he seems to be tilted out of his mind, since yesterday he has lost 17 games in a row, going from 1388 to 1083 LP. This losing streak helped Agurin catch up to him, who is now at 1056 LP.

Funnily enough, they even played the game of LIDER's 16th loss together, but not even together they could defeat the curse. After that, they played against each other, and even though it looked dire for Agurin and he already wanted to ff to end LIDER's suffering, they flipped a nash and turned it around, marking LIDER's 17th loss in a row. The two played against each other in the German Prime League and are usually rivals, which makes this battle very spicy. For example, after a victory against Agurin's former team UOL, LIDER had this to say:

toplane completely boosted, jgler only sees camps, midlaner 100 cs down at 10 mins, adc loses lane as ashe XD, and u can put in any enchanter support and it will be same impact as dreamerace. There you go, UOL explained

Probably the only team that i will remove my filter on, nothing is worse than shit players having ego and trying to start a fistfight with players that are 10x them

and Agurin making fun of the MOUZ players' elo.

Agurin is streaming all of his games and it's been really fun following this. I hope LIDER can end his losing streak to keep the battle for rank 1 competitive, and hopefully in a few days other players can catch up to those two.

"Hey everyone, long time no tweet. I'm tech lead for League, and I'd like to shed a little light on League's instability in Europe of late. The outages have been caused by malicious internet traffic, colloquially known as a "goddamn DDoS." It's worth clearing up that the issues affecting Clash over the weekend weren't due to anything with Clash, just the timing of the attack. We use non-standard communication protocols for some of our software while most of the anti-DDoS technology development has focused on HTTP because the interwebs mostly is just webs. That means that we can't always just reach for The Thing Everyone Does When DDoSed. As can be seen, mitigating this new type of DDoS attack is a work in progress. A lot of network folks have been heads down figuring out how to filter out this traffic since the events over the weekend. It's hard work, and I thank them profusely for it I do wish I could tell you more specific details, but security stuff like anti-DDoS does require secrecy. Getting anywhere near the nerdy details with y'all would arm the attackers with more useful information, and that's not worth the fun we'd have Any case, I wanted to get what we could safely disclose about it out to y'all - it's important to us that you know we care about service stability and work hard to keep it as high as we can. We know that explaining the outage doesn't make up for it, and it's on us to make them as rare as possible."

You are paying 750g for 5 Magic Resist, 15 Armor and 10 Ability Haste.

5 Magic Resist is worth 90g
15 Armor is worth 300g
10 Ability Haste is worth 266.7g

The upgrade has a total value of 656.7g, while you have to pay 750g and get ... nothing for this extra gold.

You could say that it's less than 100g, but almost every other epic item also gives a passive/active which is worth gold. You pay 93.3g not get NOTHING.

Every other item that only give base stats and has no passive/active can be bought for the correct price or even a better price:

Chain Vest: 800g for 40 armor = same deal as 300g for 15 armor (Cloth Armor)
Negatron Cloak: 900g for 50 MR = same deal as 450g for 25 MR (Null-Magic Mantle)
Pickaxe: 875g for 25 AD = same deal as 350g for 10 AD (Long Sword)
Blasting Wand: 850g for 40 AP = better deal than 435g for 20 AP (Amplifying Tome)
Giant's Belt: 900g for 350 HP = better deal than 400g for 150 HP (Ruby Crystal)

Proposal:

Reduce the cost with 100g
Reduce the MR and armor with 5 (it can now be included in Chemtank and Frostfire build path!) and reduce the cost with 300g

Upcoming Changes to URF

With this next run of URF, there will be quite a few changes to better embrace the preseason item rework. These changes are intended to let you engage with the item system more fully without hitting clear traps.

Changes include:

Instead of 80% CDR you now get +300 Ability Haste. This stacks with other sources of Ability Haste

Lethal Tempo and Ultimate Hunter are no longer disabled

If you're a mana champ: Bonus mana is converted to HP (40% rate) and bonus mana regen is converted to HP (100% rate)

The gold per 10 items will be disabled though. Their minion gold penalty they give is at such an extreme penalty that is difficult to perceive that not having them available would ultimately lead to better experiences, especially for newcomers to URF.

Edit: This run is going to AURF in 11.3. For anyone curious 300 haste is equivalent to 75% CDR, and it's intended:

Yep, it's a reduction overall.

We're interested in potentially bringing it back up with a future run, but there was enough issues when reaching super high values of ability haste that we're starting with the 300 amount first so that we have time to fix things.
